8. října proběhl v Pragovka Gallery doprovodný program k výstavě Stefana Hurtiga SOLIDARITIES. Spolu s autorem a berlínskou kurátorkou Tuçe Erel jsme otevřeli rozhovor o řasách, symbióze a mezidruhové solidaritě.

Výstavu můžete navštívit až do 10. prosince a u našich kustodek a kustodů si k ní také vyzvednout drobný katalog.

Přijměte naše pozvání na doprovodný program k výstavě Stefana Hurtiga Solidarities ve čtvrtek 8. října od 18 hodin. V rámci večera pokřtíme s autorem drobný katalog k výstavě a spolu s berlínskou kurátorkou Tuçe Erel otevřeme rozhovor o řasách, symbióze a mezidruhové solidaritě.

Tuçe Erel (nar. 1981 v Ankaře) je kurátorka a autorka textů o umění žijící v Berlíně. Po studiu sociologie a teorie a kritiky umění absolvovala magisterský program Arts Policy and Management se zaměřením na kurátorství na Birkbeck College, University of London. Od roku 2013 připravuje mezinárodní výstavy, výzkumné projekty, akce a publikace na průsečíku ekologie, antropocénu/kapitalocénu, posthumanismu a umění, vědy a technologií. Ve své kurátorské praxi propojuje kritickou teorii s uměleckým výzkumem a zabývá se zejména otázkami ne-lidské agency, ekologickými tématy, produkcí vědění a spekulativními vizemi budoucnosti. Vedle kurátorské činnosti publikuje texty o současném umění, ekologických otázkách a diskurzech kulturní teorie.

Na začátku září jsme v Pragovka Gallery zahájili výstavu německého umělce Stefana Hurtiga SOLIDARITIES. Pokuď jste na vernisáži chyběli, můžete načerpat atmosféru ve fotoreportu od Marcela Rozhoně.

Výstavou vás pak Stefan Hurtig provede spolu s berlínskou kurátorkou Tuçe Erel ve čtvrtek 8. října od 18 hodin.

Sonic Leaks listens to the shape of water and the power that gives it form: the water moving through a system, and the politics of the container that decides where it can go. Wherever water is enclosed – the pipeline, the dam, the metered tap, the gated reservoir – the same conversion repeats: a public substance becomes a saleable container, abundance for those who can pay and stagnation for everyone else. Accelerated, that logic makes water infrastructure a military target, like with the Kakhovka dam in Ukraine, strikes on Gulf desalination plants in the current US–Israel attack on Iran, and Gaza, where data indicate nearly 90% of water and sanitation infrastructure has been destroyed or damaged in the ongoing genocide.

How do we listen to the systems that decide who gets to drink? Each container’s resonance, absorption, and diffusion carries the relations of power that placed it there, treating acoustic impedance as a political parameter. A leak is the first failure you can hear: the moment an enclosure stops holding, where pressure finds the crack and the sealed system gives itself away. To hear a leak is to hear power overreach its own containment. A leak is also an opening: a place where a closed system can be entered, and redirected.

Ve čtvrtek 3. září zahájíme společnou vernisáží tři nové výstavy. Mezi nimi i výstavu německého unělce Stefana Hurtiga SOLIDARITIES.

SOLIDARITIES nabízí post-antropocénní pohled na soužití lidí a mikrořas. Videa, zvuk a sochy zkoumají symbiózu, tekutost a nové formy mezidruhové solidarity. Kurátorkou výstavy je Tuçe Erel.

Už ve čtvrtek 3. záři v 18 hodin zahájíme vernisáží výstavní projekt Stefana Hurtiga SOLIDARITIES! Kurátorkou výstavy je Tuçe Erel.

Stefan Hurtig je mediální umělec žijící v Lipsku, jehož videa, instalace a performance se zaměřují na obrazy těla, biotechnologie a kapitalistické logiky sebe sama. Jeho nejnovější projekty se věnují posthumanistickým perspektivám, plynulým identitám a soužití lidí a nelidských bytostí. Kombinuje video a prostorový design a vytváří video sochy zaměřené na vyprávění příběhu v prostoru. Hurtig studoval mediální umění na Akademii výtvarných umění (HGB) v Lipsku a byl mistrovským studentem Alby D'Urbano. Mezi jeho samostatné výstavy patří například ty v Muzeu výtvarných umění (MdbK) v Lipsku, HALLE 14 Lipsko a soft power Berlín. Je členem Digital Salon Lipsko a hostujícím kurátorem ve Videocity Basel. Jeho zahrádkářská kolonie je pro něj důležitým místem učení a inspirace.

My little microalgae friends are coming to Prague! Join us for the opening of my 💚SOLIDARITIES💚 exhibition at @pragovkagallery on 3 Sept, 18:00!

In view of the exploitation of the Earth’s habitat, it has become urgent to rethink how we live together with other, non-human beings. What can humans learn from the sustainable lifestyles of algae? The video installation SOLIDARITIES is a speculative research laboratory. In several videos, a non-binary, fluid figure guides us through a microalgae farm, plays underwater and merges with algae-based objects. The hybrid creature Zoé talks about the superpowers and symbiotic communities of algae. Spirulina microalgae cultures bubble away meditatively. New solidarities between species – that is the perspective after the Anthropocene.
