“Recognition is not the reason we do great work, but when it comes, it is a beautiful reminder that the work is making a difference.”

I am extremely grateful for the recognition as one among the 100 Tanzanian changemakers from @tzchangemakers @serengetibytes 🌸🤍 by @upendomwakyusa_

🌱 It was an incredible experience for the GreenZ Youth Adaptation Lab, under the project Strengthening Youth Climate Resilience in Semi-Arid Dodoma through Adaptation Skills and Community Innovation, to explore climate-smart agriculture practices at Young Feeders Tanzania @young_world_feeders_foundation and a beneficiary-led initiative integrating circular economy by transforming waste into fertilizer. ♻️

🌱This practical learning session equipped young people with skills to use climate-smart agriculture as a climate change adaptation strategy and build resilient communities! 🌍💚

✨Over the years, we have advocated for young people to tell their own stories and stand up for their communities. It is inspiring to witness the African Union walking the talk through the establishment of the African Youth Climate Negotiations Centre @ayc_negotiation_center a center dedicated to equipping young people with climate change negotiation skills to effectively represent their communities, countries, and Africa at large through negotiations process.

✨I am deeply humbled to be among the youth delegates from Tanzania participating in the Youth Climate Change Negotiations Training in Dar es Salaam. I believe the knowledge and skills gained will sharpen my capacity to meaningfully engage in climate policy processes and negotiations, championing the interests of Tanzania and Africa.

Today, Call for Environmental Conservation Organization (CFEC) held a special press conference to announce the launch of a project aimed at empowering women waste collectors in Dodoma City Council.

The project seeks to strengthen their capacity through green skills training, enabling them to add value to waste materials and improve their livelihoods. In addition, the project will provide personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety boots, face masks, and reflective vests, to promote safer working conditions and protect waste collectors from occupational health and safety risks.

Ocean and climate change nexus 🌊🌍

✨What a joy to witness Tanzania hosting the 12th Conference of Parties of the Nairobi Convention, the Ocean COP and to be part of conversations exploring the interconnectedness between climate change and our ocean. 🌸

✨As COP12 continues, I am grateful to be engaging in discussions on how we can harness the potential of our oceans for a sustainable blue economy while strengthening efforts to protect, restore, and preserve our marine ecosystems for generations to come.🌸

⭐ It is incredibly exciting to witness the journey of our project from developing our guidebook and toolkit to guide the empowerment and capacity-building of young people on climate change adaptation, to piloting it through a series of online sessions, and now finally taking it into physical sessions, site visits, and intensive mentorship under the GreenZ Adaptation Lab in a project on “Empowering Youth In Dodoma With Climate Change Adaptation Skills” implemented by @call_for_env_conservation

⭐ It is truly wonderful to be surrounded by 30 young people who have the passion and determination to address the climate change challenges affecting their communities. Seeing their ideas, curiosity, and commitment come to life has been inspiring.

⭐ So proud to see how far CFEC is going in building a generation of young people equipped with the skills to contribute to resilient communities.
