You know that conversation down the pub where everyone reckons they’d survive the zombie apocalypse? Tom Nowak has had it. He’s explained the whole thing. Probably more than once.

Unfortunately, his mates were listening.

Now they’ve followed his drunken survival plan and he has to cross ten miles of Stevenage to find them. He’s twenty-nine, hungover and still needs his mum to make him a fry-up. He barely left the house when people weren’t trying to eat him.

And these zombies are learning. They leak white fluid from every orifice, mimic his laugh and repeat his mum’s screams.

He calls them The Milks.

I’m Louis Urbanowski, a British bestselling comedy writer and I want to make you an offer you can very much refuse.

What would you do if zombies were coming up the stairs to eat you?

In chapter one of The Milks, Tom watches his mum get eaten.

He does nothing.

His dad’s last request was simple: look after Mum.

Tom failed.

Now he’s trapped in a loft, the world is collapsing around him, and the only thing between him and the Milks is a hatch in the ceiling.

Trapped? Saved?

Maybe both.
