New Cover Alert! ☔

So excited to have designed and illustrated the cover for the translation of Musafir Café—a Hindi bestseller written by @authordivyaprakash—also now adapted into a TV series, streaming on Netflix.

From Mumbai’s crowded streets to the misty slopes of Mussoorie, Musafir Café follows Sudha and Chander, caught between what they want and what they fear. Tender, witty and quietly profound, this is a deeply felt novel about love’s detours and the places where lost hearts pause, remember and begin again.

New Cover Alert! 🤍

I've been sitting on my hands for months waiting to show this cover and it's finally here!

Unfolding, written by @rahulsinghreads, is an exceptional debut novel that follows an affluent couple in Kolkata and a working-class Muslim mother in the city’s slums, Unfolding ventures where few stories go. It confronts the wayward ways of the heart; it articulates the true price of love; and it tells us what it means to find the road back home.

We explored many, many, different directions for this. I spent hours going through the websites of desi queer photographers trying to find the right image (and found some too) but in the end, we loved how this paired with the beautiful quietness of Rahul's words.

It's also the first queer novel I've had the privilege of making the cover for. And of course yet another and many more to come with @dharinibhaskar!

New cover alert! 🍉

Featuring incredible cover art by Palestinian visual artist and photographer, Hazem Harb.

For Gaza is one of the finest collections we have seen in recent times of artists responding to the ongoing, live-streamed, inhumane and devastating obliteration of a civilian population - the displaced Palestinians, mostly women, children and the elderly of Gaza and the West Bank. The anthology spans genres - it encompasses fiction and non-fiction, poetry and art, essays and reportage, testaments and commentary, photography and anthems.

Edited by writers Jeet Thayil (@thayilesque) and Pascalle Burton, the list of contributors includes artists on the ground in Gaza, as well prize-winning writers from India, Australia, Europe and the United States. This is a necessary, urgent, artistic response to an unimaginable political moment.

My artwork 'Pest Control' is on display at @shacocohq, as part of the independent print show, BUGS!, curated by @paradise_tender @shreya.josh!!!

There are 20 signed and editioned prints for sale from an absolutely incredible cohort of artists—and it's a privilege to be amongst them. Go see the show and get yourself a coffee!!

About Pest Control:

The lantern fly is a strange creature native to parts of Asia. Its name promises light, but it creates none. Instead, it hides blinding patterns beneath its wings, revealing them only when threatened. Its instinct to survive is manifested by becoming something else—incomprehensible. It uses beauty, disguise and exaggeration as armour like a performer on stage, turning their body into spectacle. There is a quiet (loud) power in this transformation, in choosing to become excessive, unfamiliar and impossible to perceive. Performance becomes both a distraction and a declaration, a sharp refusal to be contained. by @veermisra

New Covers Alert! 📕

Alongside the cover for Ranbir Sidhu's new memoir No one gets out of here alive, we also rejacketed his previous two books Our Cities Are Not Your Cities (previously Good Indian Girls) and Deep Singh Blue.

Diving deep into the personal while piercing the soul of a culture, No one gets out of here alive achieves the incredible - it tells of family, and in doing so, it tells of the unmooring of Punjab.

New Cover Alert! 🔴

The Indian edition of Aruni Kashyap's (@arunikashyap) latest novel How to Date a Fanatic.

Propulsive, tense, yet charged with humor and tenderness, How to Date a Fanatic reminds us that the politics of self and of our times are entwined. What we look for in love, Aruni Kashyap suggests, may not be very far from what we seek in a democracy: Can we be safeguarded without giving up our freedom? More pertinently: Can love save us, everyone else, and a nation?

New Cover Alert! 🕊️

@tishanidoshi is a writer whose words I have loved with my whole heart for a decade, now. To work on the cover for her new collection, Egrets, While War, has been something I never even dreamed of, but here we are.

An extraordinary collection that navigates the deep entanglements between massacre, ageing and memory, Egrets, While War tells of a world where exile and extinction press close - 'The dirge of loss recovery / loss loss loss continues' - but it offers, too, against the odds, a possibility of coming out alive: bedazzled, birdlike and blue-throated. 'Now scream,' Tishani Doshi tells us, 'now sing.'

Most people walk past wetlands without a second glance. We get it—they’re muddy, a little murky, and often easy to mistake as empty.

But beneath the surface lies another world of shifting waters, hidden lives, ancient myths, and creatures that have adapted to these spaces for millions of years.

Consider this your invitation. Step into the unknown.
