One of the oldest #vegan restaurants is back. @redbamboonyc recently closed in Greenwich Village after 24 years, but they quickly opened a new takeout-focused space on West 38th Street, with a few tables and a limited menu featuring their most popular dishes. They’ll grow the menu over time. Visit the new Red Bamboo in Midtown West.

@cinnaholic opens their first storefront today in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood. The bakery serves 100% #dairyfree and #vegan cinnamon rolls with a wide variety of frostings and toppings. Cinnaholic is a large #vegan chain that is more well-known on the West Coast but spreading nationwide. The NYC franchisee is a vegan family that moved to the city from California and missed the indulgent desserts from back home. Follow the local NYC store at @cinnaholicnyc.

@oldschool_rockaway is a 100% #glutenfree and 100% #vegan coffee shop just one block from the beach in the Rockaways. The cafe doesn’t use ANY disposable to-go cups. Either stay and use their reusable glasses or bring your own reusable cup. They use local coffee roasters and all of the music is from a record player behind the counter.

@tuckshop_nyc is a new Australian-inspired cafe in the West Village that has drawn huge crowds in recent months for their NOT VEGAN sandwiches…but they JUST added one that is #VEGAN by default. WEEKEND #vegan options on @governorsisland:

@sixcoasts: Vegan burgers, guacamole, tostones, sorbet, and Peruvian fried mushrooms with yuca fries.

@joecoffeecompany: Coffee!

@fauziasnyc: Delicious vegan gyro made with soy curls. Just be sure to pick a vegan sauce. (I tried the jerk sauce!)

@tokyodrumsticknyc: Several vegan options made with tofu (banh mi-style bao, Banh mi sandwich, etc).

@threesbrewing: Incredible craft beer, just pick one without lactose or honey.

@makinacafe: Excellent plant-based Ethiopian options, beer, wine and a large outdoor seating area.

Eva’s: Vegan spring rolls, a vegan salad, and lots of cocktails.

@lanewyorkina and @brigsbynyc: Ice cream vendors with vegan sorbet.

@pizzeriafantastica: Cheese-less marina pizza.

One of the longest-running vegan restaurants has returned! @vspotnyc is serving highlights from their 100% #vegan Colombian and Mexican menu during live comedy shows at @stmarkscomedyclub. I tried #vegan nachos, empanadas, and a burrito and they were just as delicious as I remember. The menu is also available for ordering online via the major delivery apps. This is the only comedy club in the world with a fully vegan menu. Visit VSPOT at St Marks Comedy Club.

@gertienyc in Prospect Heights has some amazing #vegan options. Their Caesar Salad is actually vegan by default and they can also make it into a sandwich. You can also order a vegan tofu Reuben, by making a couple changes to the non-vegan Reuben (replace the meat with tofu and get vegan aioli instead of Russian Dressing). Both sandwiches were excellent and I’ve heard the bagels are, too. They also have a huge backyard. Definitely check out Gertie. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @vegan.nyx

@subtext_nyc is the new night concept in soft open at @dialogue_nyc, the #vegan coffee shop on the Lower East Side. At night, the cafe turns into a Chinese natural wine bar with plant-based bar snacks. They also sell flowers. They’re currently in soft-open with a limited menu, but later this summer they’ll add cocktails and full menu of small plates inspired by Asian street food. Visit SUBTEXT Thursday to Sunday nights on the LES. Everything is 100% plant-based.
