I loved being part of Hey Chica! Power to the Chica!

I had the pleasure of facilitating a conversation on voting, civic engagement, and the power of using our voices to create meaningful change in our communities.

We talked about the importance of showing up, recognizing the influence we already have, and inspiring the next generation of women to lead. Thank you to the Hey Chica team for creating a space for women to connect, learn, and empower one another!

This Saturday, October 17, we’re gathering for more than brunch. We’re gathering to connect, to celebrate community, to meet new Chicas, and to have real conversations about how we advocate for ourselves, for each other, and for the issues that matter most to our families and communities.

Hey Chicas!

Today felt bigger than a TV interview.
@dallasactivista and @veronicatorreshazley had the opportunity to step into the NBC 5 and Telemundo studios to share the heart behind Power to the Chica — and moments like this remind me why telling our stories matters.

Every time our community is seen, heard, and welcomed onto a larger platform, the circle gets wider.

We reach another woman.
We open another door.
We remind another Chica that there is space for her voice, her questions, her leadership, and her story.

I’m so grateful for partners like NBC 5 and Telemundo who help us carry that message across DFW and into our Spanish-speaking community.

And now we’re bringing that energy straight into October 17th. 💗

A visual representation of the spaces I’ve been sitting in this week.

I’ve been reflecting a lot on the idea that life happens through us. There is an incredible, sacred shift that occurs when we accept the invitation to just be present—to relax into the current moment and surrender to the light that wants to come in.
To surrender is one of the most powerful moves we can make for ourselves. It demands vulnerability. It forces us to get grounded. But when we open up and allow the force around us to guide our steps with trust, faith, and hope, everything changes.
We gain a completely new perspective. We find trust, we embrace vulnerability, and most importantly, we reclaim the power within ourselves.
