15 years with The Sweetest Girl In The World 🤍

Boo has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Cozy in the clouds. Snuggling in the sunlight.

Damn, did I love her. With every beat of my heart.

If you were lucky enough to know her, thank you for loving her. And - you know - she was a special girl who showed love in special, soft ways. So soft, you might’ve missed it. She didn’t have a tail to wag, or excited barks to bark. Her love showed through her eyes. It was heard through her breath. It was felt through her closeness. Her love was quiet but could fill an entire heart (mine).

Being her Mama is the most awesome & radical honor of my life. Fifteen years with this precious, tender, darling angel. I’m still coming to terms with my luck.🥹

I keep her picture on her side of the bed (with the one stuffed animal she ever loved ha!) - I can’t tell you how much comfort that has brought me. When I look over at her, I soften and feel a smile forming, then the grief comes… but there’s this thread of gratefulness in it. The deepest appreciation I’ve ever felt. In time I know that gratitude will supersede the grief.

I still talk to her like she’s here. Because she is. My sweet girl 🤍 by @vialolo

LaJuana!! I couldn’t be more excited for her. Or proud. Or emo… Her activism, her spirit, her “risqué” sense of humor will all be on display Saturday night! She’s been working so hard for this exhibition and I can’t wait to see it all come together. Most of all, I can’t wait to see her face as she watches everyone take in her art.

Stop by if you can. Go home with a piece that’s sure to be a conversation starter. If you can’t make it but want to show your support, her Venmo is Lajuana-Lampkins.

Follow her @lajuana.lampkins1 and specifically for the show, @lajuanaspopup

There’s an improbable story behind this pic from last weekend in Atlanta @phish .
There we were, wookin’ out when a lovely stranger turned around and said, “Hey, Chickenhead, I took a pic of a guy with the same hat at a show in 2011.”
🐔 said, “Prove it.” So she found it in her photos and lo and behold, there was @brycebryce in all his youthful glory!🥰

Cute huh? But wait, there’s more.

As we scanned the 2011 pic, we saw that I was standing to 🐔’s right. (Not surprising but still 😍!) The icing on the cake was THEN we saw justin standing to MY right— the exact formation the 3 of us were standing in a decade later. 🤯 Even that lovely stranger (now phriend) was perfectly positioned to recreate the shot.

What. A. World.
