Did you know that Birmingham has the largest authentic German Market outside of Germany and Austria?

Well, if you’re in Birmingham for it and you’re looking for somewhere to stay I recommend you check out Malmaison. It’s in a very central location and close to Birmingham New Street Station (although Birmingham Moor Street isn’t that much further).

Each time I stay, it’s always been nothing short of amazing, the staff are very friendly and attentive, the rooms are pleasant and luxurious but still comforting ❤️

It was incredible and I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay and work with @malmaisonhotels this year.

Back to Birmingham again because my friend lives here, so the main mission this time wasn’t sightseeing but a 5-hour mini tour of shopping, snacks and café hopping.

Instead of the usual landmarks, here’s where we actually went for a chill girls’ city day out.

📍 Flying Tiger
Yes, it’s everywhere, but the Birmingham one had a huge sale on – most things from 30% off and a whole Valentine’s collection that was way too cute to walk past. Perfect for little home bits and gifts on a budget.

📍 Primark (World’s biggest)
Birmingham’s Primark is the biggest in the UK, so be ready to walk a LOT and seriously test your willpower (and your bank account). Inside you’ll find the Stranger Things café for fans, plus a Disney café upstairs, and even a Fujifilm instant photo booth where you can print cute pics on the spot.

📍 Hong Kong Cafe
A comfort-food stop in a building full of Asian restaurants. Prices are super reasonable – a two-topping rice noodle bowl is around £11, and for a small top-up you get a drink (hot or cold). The soup base is rich and flavourful, the HK-style milk tea tastes really authentic, and they even serve a complimentary daily soup on the side.

📍 Jellycat Corner at Selfridges
Even though I was just at the Jellycat in Harrods London, the Selfridges Birmingham selection felt slightly different, with some styles I didn’t spot in London – like the ramen Jellycat, which I hadn’t seen before. Worth a browse if you’re a collector.

📍 Akari Cafe
A Japanese-style café my friend insisted we visit. Matcha lovers will be obsessed, but I switched to a black sesame latte because it’s so rare to find in the UK – creamy, slightly sweet and super comforting. The matcha cheesecake is on the denser side, and the matcha egg roll is a 10/10 with that rich cream filling.

Next time our goal is to explore some museums and smaller towns around Birmingham, because we’ve pretty much walked the whole city centre already

AD | We were invited to a special showing of the @celestial_drones show in collaboration with @say.yuup yesterday and it was AMAZING 🤩 The #EvolutionLIVE drone show provides the viewers with a spectacular display in the night sky with a flock of drones all flying in harmony, controlled by only 2 pilots telling the story of evolution as we know it 🦕🐢

Tickets for the show in Wolverhampton on Thursday 14th December: 19:00 – 22:00 are available now. Children under the age of 3 are free!

We would definitely recommend viewing this in person, as words nor images can describe how epic this was to see in real life!

📍Shokupan, Grand central, Birmingham

Came across this gem recently and how cool is this place!!! 🤩

Shokupan is a Japanese inspired restaurant where you can find Japanese Sandos (freshly made)

The whole store is so cool with little details everywhere, as an anime fan, i love that 😂🤍

What we tried
- Hot pepper chicken shokupan hootie (Meal £12)

- Shokupan truffled shroom (On its own £7.95)

- Biscoff biggie (£3.95)

They also serve chulo drinks @chulo_drinks

Food wise, i loved everything!!!! Flavours, presentation, portion, everything was on point, didn’t think the mushroom one would taste equally as good as the chicken one but it did!!! The bread melts in ur mouth 😮‍💨

The spicy sauce definitely made it even better for me!!😮‍💨

It’s also a perfect spot for a quick bite!
