Back in the Uk.

Immensely proud of @theufcbaddy , didn’t get the result but the heart of a lion and absolutely lit Las Vegas up all week. One of life’s genuine superstars and will always be like family to me.

Shout out @nextgenmmalpool and the team and Paddy’s strong family unit, proud and grateful to be part of the group and an elite team and watch all the Team NG athletes grow in their careers.

Paddy is the most loyal, dedicated and hard working motherfucker in the game, love him or hate you will never emulate him.

On another level of toughness, his stock raised, raised the roof on the T mobile, fight of the night and that belt will no doubt come home with him in the future.

The pain and disappointment is real in not bringing the belt home especially for Paddy of course but the pride and accolades for the performance is as strong as it can be.

Big Feb and March ahead, few days off and then time to get back to work.

Special shout to Sally, Ella J and Ella the brilliant @vortexfuelstation team for their meticulous work and to @macrochef for their support 🫶🏻🤝 And to my man @mju.performance always with me supporting everything we do with Paddy and the team and @ashmurphycoaching @styli_03 for all their hard work and support of the business during my absence alongside the team at @vortexperformanceacademy doing great work in the gym.
The support for Paddy from the Vortex members and team including all the money spent to travel to support him has been special, as they say real recognise real.

We love yer Patrick , rest up see you very soon ❤️ taken in Las Vegas, Nevada by @vortexperformanceacademy

🥊 SMARTER PROTECTION FOR COMBAT ATHLETES

We recently welcomed Jill from Prevent Biometrics to Vortex Performance Academy to create custom smart gumshields for our athletes preparing for their upcoming bouts.

🦷 Digital dental impressions help create a custom fit for comfort and protection.

📊 Smart gumshield technology measures both linear and rotational head acceleration during impacts, providing valuable data to support research into head impacts in combat sports.

This technology is helping advance our understanding of impact forces and athlete safety. 🧠

At Vortex, we’re always looking for innovative ways to support our athletes through performance, preparation and smarter training.

A big thank you to Jill and Prevent Biometrics! 👏

What a day at Vortex HQ. 🥊🧠

Paul Reed, Vortex PA Gym Owner and Coach:
I'm proud of the relationships we build with our athletes, coaches and the brilliant academics and practitioners we work alongside. Today was another one of those days where we add real value to every athlete who comes through the door, in both performance and duty of care.

Jon Bell, Leeds Beckett University:
"Testing days at Vortex Performance Centre give Leeds Beckett students fantastic opportunities to learn from one of the country's leading S&C coaches and gain hands-on experience with elite athletes. Today, students also met the BrainScope team and explored cutting-edge technology in concussion assessment and management. A brilliant experience for everyone involved."

@fighter9physio:
"As a clinician, my priority is keeping fighters healthy and fit to train and compete. Working alongside medical and performance teams and coaches, integrating BrainScope into combat sports helps us use objective data to inform clinical decisions, protect brain health, support recovery and optimise performance."

Coming soon: The Elite Practice Network 👀

What does the future of fighter performance and welfare look like?

We saw it in action this week at Vortex Performance Academy.

Working alongside @brainscopeinc @northern_grappling_co and @fighter9physio our athletes underwent a series of cutting-edge assessments designed to better understand performance, monitor impacts and improve duty of care.

✅ BrainScope EEG assessments
✅ Digital dental impressions
✅ Smart gum shields measuring linear and rotational head acceleration
✅ Strength and power testing

We were also joined by Olympic judoka @wjgreenidge1 , BKB Featherweight Champion @garyfoxbkfc.lufc GB MMA athletes and the exceptional team from Next Gen MMA Liverpool.

The biggest takeaway?

When sports science, healthcare and coaching come together, everybody wins. Better data. Better decisions. Better protection for athletes.

Different disciplines. One mission: helping athletes perform at their best while prioritising long-term welfare.
