In this installment of the Warrior WR Academy Catch and Cover Series, we dissect Cooper Kupp’s exceptional prowess in getting open. The focus of this breakdown is the Corner Route, and here’s how Kupp masterfully executes it:

**Inside Release Strategy:** Kupp’s gameplan is evident as he initiates an inside release on the corner route. This strategic move allows him to create extra room toward the sideline, making it easier for the quarterback to deliver the pass.

**Defender’s Blind Spot:** Notice how he presents his back to the defender, preventing any possibility of a jam on the shoulder or route rerouting. This is a crucial part of getting open, ensuring he maintains a clean route.

**Rocker Step Brilliance:** At the route’s pinnacle, Kupp incorporates a rocker step that works like a charm. The key to its effectiveness is the uncertainty it introduces to the defender. By keeping the defender guessing about his next move, Kupp gains the upper hand.

THE PRICE OF GREATNESS 🏈🔥

A huge thank you to @lwkangfootball for having me out last night to speak with the team!

I had the opportunity to share some lessons, experiences, and gems from my journey in this game, from the University of Washington to the NFL, about what it truly takes to achieve greatness.

My message was simple: Everybody wants greatness, but not everybody is willing to pay the price it requires. The sacrifices, discipline, accountability, preparation, and commitment to something bigger than yourself are what separate those who talk about it from those who live it.

Lake Washington will always hold a special place in my heart. In the early days of @warrior.acad , the first athlete I trained who earned a college football scholarship came out of Lake Washington High School in @domonic_roussell . To come back years later and pour into the next generation was truly a full-circle moment.

Special thank you to Coach Andy Arena and @lwgridiron for the invitation and opportunity to impact these young men!

Greatness isn’t given. It’s earned through what you’re willing to do when nobody is watching.

Keep building, keep believing, and keep elevating! The Warrior Way! ⚔️

What an amazing experience this week being part of Seattle’s inaugural NFL Wives Association Off The Field Girls Football Clinic!

I had the opportunity to lead drills alongside some incredible coaches in @scotty_law @kerryocei and the @atavusfootball Team, @derrek.t.thomas @lofa_tatupu and current @seahawks QB @milticketfour . We were all there helping these young ladies develop their football skills, build confidence, and compete! The energy, enthusiasm, and athleticism these girls brought was OFF THE CHARTS!

Huge shoutout to the @offthefieldnflwives and @dreacargill for bringing this incredible opportunity to the PNW! Thank you to all the coaches, volunteers, families, and supporters who helped make this event possible.

Most importantly, shoutout to every young lady who showed up ready to learn, compete, and GET BETTER! The future of girls’ football is BRIGHT and I’m excited to be a part of it!

This is why I love what I do. Football is bigger than the game. It’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, and making a lasting impact on the next generation of athletes!

Grateful to be part of moments like these and excited to see where the game takes these young women!

I want you to really take in this message from Tom Brady on his career and the approach he took towards the adversity in his football journey.

Talent and training matter, but MINDSET can separate you from everyone else.

Stop pointing fingers and start looking in the mirror. Instead of asking what everyone else needs to do better, ask:

“What can I do better?”

Bring the energy. Bring the effort. Bring the enthusiasm. BRING THE JUICE DAILY! ⚡️

That mindset is contagious and can change your performance, your team, and your life.

One of the best parts of the @warrior.acad Top 10 is seeing athletes from youth football to high school and college, across multiple positions, step up and make plays when their number is called.

9️⃣ Beau Mahaffey | Tahoma Jr. Bears Football — They dial up the double pass and Beau makes the defense pay! Gets behind the coverage and comes down with a great catch downfield.

8️⃣ Preston Santi @s.anti253 | Pacific Lutheran University — Works the curl route, finds the open window and comes through with a big conversion to keep the chains moving! 7️⃣ Colton Skinner @colton_skinner1 | Seattle Prep High School — Drops a beautiful ball on the corner route for a HUGE gain. Great touch and placement from the QB!

6️⃣ Sebastian Rojo @bashrojo11 | Benson Bruins — Gets the screen, sees daylight and TAKES IT TO THE HOUSE!

5️⃣ Edward Pellham @edwardpellham | King’s High School — Wins on the red-zone fade for six while QB Henry Wilson puts an absolute DIME where only his receiver can make the play!

The @warrior.acad In-season development work with @seaprepsports freshman QB @colton_skinner1 focusing on one of his biggest goals: becoming more accurate throwing on the move.

Whether it’s play action, escaping the pocket, a designed rollout, or scrambling to extend the play, we worked on the details that make the difference:

🏈 Proper footwork on the move
🏈 Staying balanced through the delivery
🏈 Consistent throwing mechanics
🏈 Getting the ball out accurately from different angles

The best part? The same drills and coaching points we worked on showed up in his next 2 games!

That’s what in-season development is about. We’re training players at EVERY AGE, POSITION, and SKILL LEVEL not just training to train—we’re working on skills that translate directly to GAME DAY.

Defensive Backs — the receiver’s upper body can lie. The hips tell the truth. 👀🔒

In this @warrior.acad session, we worked on staying patient in coverage, keeping our eyes disciplined, and reading the receiver’s hips instead of reacting to every upper-body movement.

Great receivers know how to sell routes. If you react to every head fake, shoulder lean, or arm movement, they’re controlling you.

Stay patient. Trust your technique. Read what they give you. Then make your play. 💯
