Building Fire

West Goshen Township - Just after 10:00 AM, the West Chester Borough Fire Department were dispatched for a fire alarm at Peirce Middle School, 1300 block of Burke Road, West Goshen Township, for a fire alarm.

The incident was upgraded after crews arrived and found a small fire with the sprinkler system activated. A small fire inside was contained by the sprinkler system and fully extinguished by WCFD.

Assisting WCFD at the scene were Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute, West Whiteland Fire Company, West Goshen Township Police Department and Chester County Department of Emergency Services Fire Marshal’s Office. by @wcfiredept

This morning at 8:28 AM the West Chester Borough Fire Department, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute, West Chester Borough Police Department along with mutual aid departments were dispatched to the 900 block of Centennial Drive, East Bradford Township, for a house fire.

Crews arrived on location finding heavy fire conditions throughout the house. A second alarm was dispatched bringing extra manpower to the scene.

The fire was brought under control at 11:00 AM. Numerous firefighters were treated for heat related injuries and released at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation by the Chester County Department of Emergency Services Fire Marshal’s Division. by @wcfiredept

This afternoon members from the Fame Fire Co. No. 3 and Good Will Fire Company #2 of West Chester traveled to Baltimore City to attend the graduation of FF/EMT’s William Romano and Brody Plourde on their graduation from the Baltimore City Fire Academy.

Brush Fire

Just after 4:00 PM on Friday, the West Chester Borough Fire Department was dispatched for a brush fire in the 600 block of Sunset Hollow Road, East Bradford Township.

Crews from the First West Chester Fire Co., Engine Co. 51 respond quickly extinguishing a 30 foot by 30 foot area of brush. by @wcfiredept

At 11:23 AM on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the West Chester Borough Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire in the area of Fern Hill Road and Phoenixville Pike, West Goshen Township.

It was also reported the vehicle was carrying hay bales which were also burning in the roadway.

WCFD was assisted by the West Goshen Township Police Department and West Chester Fire Police. by @wcfiredept

On April 1, 2025, Chief Scanlon sign an order that will have all WCFD fire apparatus repainted to one color scheme.

Each piece of apparatus will be painted purple with a gold stripe and will also incorporate the borough flag, and the seal of each township in which the WCFD serves on the truck body.

Scanlon states this will bring unity to the department and the community we serve.

The project will be completed by April 1, 2026. by @wcfiredept

Just after 10:00 PM on Sunday, March 30, 3025, the West Chester Borough Fire Department along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and West Whiteland Fire Company were dispatched to the WAWA, 1100 Pottstown Pike, West Goshen Township for a reported building fire.

The caller reported an alarm with smoke from duct work inside the store. Crews arrived and found no hazards inside or on the roof of the property.

All units cleared at 10:37 PM. by @wcfiredept

Just after 2:00 PM on Sunday, the West Chester Borough Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire in the 800 block of Frank Road, East Bradford Township.

A 100 foot by 100 foot area was quickly extinguished by firefighters from WCFD’s First West Chester Fire Co., Engine Co. 51.
