We’re thrilled that @parrtjimaaustralia celebrated its biggest opening weekend ever, with over 8,300 attendees joining us under the stars at Desert Park, Alice Springs.

While the record numbers are a proud milestone for the We Are Gather team, it’s the connection that stays with us:

At this year's @parrtjimaaustralia - we honour our dear friend and Parrtjima Curator, Rhoda Roberts AO.

We truly miss and mourn her presence at the festival this year, she was Parrtjima. Her vision is everywhere you look at Desert Park and we’re so proud to be bringing her vision to life this year.

This weekend, we dedicated a beautiful opening ceremony to Rhoda, with a live Welcome to Country from the Parrtjima Festival Reference Group, a special performance from traditional dancers, and the song 'Spirit' by @casiiwilliams , that was a song close to Rhoda’s heart.

This opening weekends been so special - From @electricfields deadly vocals and vibes on the stage, to Darrell Sibosado’s saltwater designs lighting up the desert- it’s been a beautiful start.

Our We Are Gather team is completely gutted by the news of Rhoda Roberts AO’ passing. Words don’t feel like enough to capture the space she filled in our lives and at Parrtjima Festival.

Rhoda didn’t just work with us, she welcomed us into her world. We are forever grateful that she gave us the chance to work side-by-side with her as our Festival Curator, sharing her boundless wisdom, her patience, and her unparalleled skill in storytelling.

She shared more with us than we could have ever asked. We will never forget the quiet power of her teaching us how to weave, or the magic of the stories she told us at night, long after the festival gates had closed. She welcomed us into her world, and taught us about care, about connection, and about country.

With this year’s Parrtjima so close, which is entirely Rhoda’s curatorial vision, we are more determined than ever to honour her legacy. We will deliver this festival with pride, with love, and with the heart she put into every single detail.

We love you, Rhoda. We are determined to do you proud. Rest peacefully. We send all our love to your family at this difficult time X 🖤

What an unforgettable weekend! 🥂

A full house of wine wanderers, food lovers, and music seekers from across the globe came together to celebrate just how special the Margaret River Region truly is.

From world-class drops to flavours that tell a story, beats beneath towering trees, and that magic coastal air...this place is unlike anywhere else.

As Tom Parker Bowles said, “the best festival in the world,” and we couldn’t agree more.

And watching Francis Mallmann fall in love with our coastline and ancient forests was pure joy.
