🌈 Youth mental health charity improving young lives through access to education and targeted support
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Eight years of Beyond. Eight years of listening, learning, and making sure young people are part of the change 💙
What started with one belief, that young people deserve better mental health support, has grown into a community of young people, educators, schools, champions, ambassadors, and supporters working towards that same goal.

The numbers in this video tell part of the story. Hundreds of thousands of young people reached. Thousands of educators and schools involved. Hundreds of thousands of pounds invested into support. But behind every figure is something much more human: a young person feeling heard, a teacher feeling better equipped, a conversation starting, or someone realising they are not alone.

We’re incredibly proud of what this community has built over the past eight years. And we’re only getting started!

Note: parts of this video have been made using AI due to availability limitations of our speakers. We want to be transparent about that to encourage safe and responsible use of AI at all times.

Now & Beyond is now live 🎉 What started as a one-day event is now an all-access digital platform, supporting educators working with young people aged 4–18 across the UK.

The platform brings together youth-approved, ready-to-use resources, from lesson plans to workshops, all designed to be flexible, practical, and easy to use in real settings.

Built with young people, not just for them, it’s designed to support mental health and wellbeing without adding to workload.

👉 Explore the platform via the link in bio.

A little reminder to speak to yourself with the same warmth you give to the people you care about.
You are more than the difficult days, the doubts, or the moments when you don’t feel your best.
You are loved, capable, caring, brave, and always worthy of kindness. 💙

Want to help shape the future of young people's mental health? 💙 We're looking for four new voices to join Beyond's Youth Board! We're recruiting:
📱 Social Media Officer (15–25) to help shape how we connect with young people online.
💙 Fundraising Officer (15–25) to bring fresh ideas to our fundraising.
✨ 2 Youth Board Juniors (10–14) who want to speak up, share their perspectives and help power change.

These are voluntary opportunities to become part of the Beyond family, have your say, and help make sure young people's voices are at the heart of what we do. You don't need to have all the answers. We want to hear your ideas, your experiences, and what matters to you.

Sound like you? Or know someone who'd be brilliant?
Comment ‘APPLY’ below, and we'll send you the application link directly, or head to the link in our bio!

A young person’s need for help should be enough to start getting support. This ADHD Awareness Month, Professor Peter Fonagy’s Independent Review into mental health conditions, ADHD and autism raises an important question: why should young people have to wait for a diagnosis before they can access the support they need?

The review recommends a shift towards a needs-led system, recognising that support should respond to individual needs rather than depend solely on a formal diagnosis. For too many children and young people, lengthy waiting lists mean spending months, sometimes longer, without the right support. And when someone is already struggling at school, at home or in their everyday life, that wait matters.

Diagnosis can be life-changing, and access to timely assessments remains essential. But support shouldn't have to begin and end with a diagnosis. We welcome the direction of this review. It's an important step towards a system that prioritises early intervention, recognises different needs, and makes support more accessible.

But recommendations alone won't change young people's experiences. We need proper funding, clear accountability, and meaningful action to turn these proposals into support that young people can actually access.

Want to read our full response to the Prevalence Review? Comment ‘RESPONSE’ below and we’ll send you the link directly, or head to the link in our bio.

For World Mental Health Day, a reminder that saying what you see (@bornthiswayfoundation #BeThere #Rule1) can be simple but meaningful. We’re all used to saying “I’m fine” without really thinking about it. Sometimes, asking again and saying what you see can create the space for a more honest answer.

You don't need to have the perfect words or know exactly what to say. Just showing that you are there, and that you really mean the question, can matter.

This World Mental Health Day, say what you see. Because sometimes, that's where the real conversation begins 💙

Over 1,000 new educational settings since April this year! 💙 Since relaunching Now & Beyond in April, we've welcomed over 1,000 new educational settings to the platform. That's 1,000 more schools taking steps to bring mental health and wellbeing support into their learning environments.

For us, this milestone is about more than a number. It's about the growing commitment to making mental health support part of everyday education, rather than something we only think about when young people are struggling. To every school and educational setting that's joined us so far, we're excited to have you on board.

Here's to reaching even more young people.

You don’t have to get everything right straight away. Some things take time, practice, and a bit of patience.

Try to speak to yourself with the same kindness you’d give someone else who was still figuring things out.

You’re allowed to learn as you go.

This Teachers’ Day, we’re celebrating the teachers who make young people feel seen, understood, and supported. To celebrate, one teacher’s school will receive £400 to spend on mental health resources from our network of approved providers.

Are you a teacher? Tell us in the comments how you help your students feel supported. Or nominate a brilliant teacher by tagging them and telling us the difference they make.

Our Youth Board member Freya’s experience is a reminder of just how much difference one teacher can make. Her teacher saw her as an individual, understood what she needed, and helped make going into school feel possible again.

To every teacher making young people feel like they belong in the classroom, thank you 💙

If our Beyond Champion Natalie could go back and speak to her younger self, this is what she’d want her to know.

That the intrusive thoughts wouldn’t always feel so constant. That happy moments would feel like happy moments again. That she would fall in love, travel to incredible places, buy her own flat, and keep making memories with the people she loves.

Most of all, she’d tell her that mental health challenges would never take away her chance to build a full life. For anyone who needs this reminder today: the way things feel right now is not the whole picture 💙

What would you want your younger self to know? Let's meet in the comments.
