Tomorrow, Friday October 2nd, is Bandcamp Friday again. Established during the pandemic with all its difficulties for artists, the whole sales revenue is passed down on the artists. If I now ask you to support my work (get one song for 1,50 euros each, digital ep’s and albums for 4–9 euros, a vinyl lp for 20 euros plus shipping), tomorrow would be twice as great to do.Also, each little contribution will make the merciless algorithm notice at least the hint of a bit. Artists like me need you. We can produce new stuff all the time, but can’t make ourselves known all alone by ourselves. by @wilhelm.roman

My stupid Akkadian test phrase "ša KA.DINGIR.RA.ki a-na-ku" (I am from Babylon—Ich bin ein Babylonier) serves as a dummy for my web-based input method now entering its truly experimental stage. I am trying to include Akkadian syllables, Sumerian signs and Akkadian logograms (such as KA2.DINGIR.RA.ki or some popular spellings, then "Bābilim", from Huehnergard’s logogram list) into the list of available inputs. The output now comes in Neo Assyrian and Old Babylonian, referring to an OpenType feature (stylistic set 01 or ss01) included into my font. If you copy and paste the characters and use them again without my font being installed, they just fall back to their Unicode values, and no text will be distorted. Anyway, my font still has a Variable axis called "Optical Size" which is automatically used by the browser, as you can see in the end of my screen record. It gives more contrast and sharper contours in bigger type sizes. Now pending: A third text box spitting out proper transliterations including superscripts and subscripts, but not sure if I will make it. First steps in HTML and JavaScript in synergy with my new Cuneiform font. This little thing shall turn into a simple input method with stylistic possibilities, including output in Neo-Assyrian (like here) and Old Babylonian. The font itself has an optical size axis and many more features, including a hopefully smart idea for complex logograms. Now: Some screen design? 😅 by @wilhelm.roman

Doing some simple practice in Akkadian, though a far cryfrom @dumu.enki , but the practice needs to come from somewhere?! While the Kids are playing Tennis and the Voice from the new Akkadians from @karlmarxstrasse.neukoelln are carried to me by the Wind.
