W Project Studio is made by @dinidini as a place to pour her design ideas and to create zero or minimal waste garments.

In some of their projects, they also use fabric scraps, leftovers and orts to make new fabrics. Orts are the leftover snips of thread that remain when you’re done stitching.

One of their signatures is the reversible zero waste kimono jacket. Any fabric leftovers are used to make another garments. Their other signature is the scrapocket, that is a pocket made from scraps and orts.

W Project Studio is a part of @dinidini’s personal project in adopting slow fashion. However, sometimes she can’t help to design something that isn’t quite sustainable. This is simply her closet to keep all her design ideas.

This shirt dress began as a shirt 8 years ago.

We need to rethink what "new" really means. Not every new garment has to begin with new materials. Sometimes, new means seeing possibilities in what we already have.

Upcycling is a way of extending the life of clothing—adding value, keeping garments in use, and giving them another chapter instead of sending them to landfill. It also celebrates creativity, individuality, and a slower, more thoughtful way of getting dressed.

For us in W Project Studio, every upcycled piece is a reminder that good design isn't just about creating something beautiful from scratch. It's also about making the most of what we already have.

Imperfection deserves a chance. This kimono style jacket is made from flaw textiles. It isn't perfect because it has subtle wax stains, beautiful remnants from the artisan's process. It isn't perfect because it has brown stains for being stored too long.

But they are beautiful flaws that hold stories. They deserve a chance to live a new life, instead of being abandoned or end up in the landfill. Saving the fabrics means saving the resources that were invested in producing them, like the raw materials and manpower. Using available materials instead of virgin materials should save the earth from buried in fashion waste and environmental degradation.
