POSTS STORIES REELS

As part of the Strengthening Women in Leadership program, I recently conducted an assessment on the functionality of Gender Desks at the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA).

The assessment focused on strengthening inclusion of women and persons with disabilities in leadership, through prevention and combating GBV in learning institutions. It also looked at enhancing institutional capacity to address harassment and all forms of violence, and improving mental health support for service providers.

Creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments is not optional, it is essential for real leadership to thrive. When women feel safe, they lead. When institutions are inclusive, everyone benefits.

Grateful to have participated in the 3rd FES Dialogue Forum on "The Future of Work" held at FES Makuti Venue, as an alumna of the 2022 cohort.

It was amazing to return to the FES space not just as a participant, but as an alumna continuing the journey. We had insightful discussions on youth employment challenges and pathways, focusing on skills development, entrepreneurship, and the youth agenda for Tanzania.

The panel and group work reminded me how far I have come since 2022, and how much more we still need to do to prepare young people for the future of work. The future is already here and youth must be at the center of shaping it.

Thank you to @festanzania for keeping the alumni community engaged and for creating this important platform for dialogue.

Induction training on #ProtectingAndEmpoweringAgainstChildExploitation (PEACE) @genactafrica. A national research initiative to inform Tanzania's response to peer sexual violence among young people. The research will cover five (5) regions: Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Dodoma, Urban West Zanzibar, and South Pemba.

In enhancing inclusive efforts to protect and prevent GBV, I will be part of this research representing @juwauza, identifying the challenges facing young people especially those with disabilities in fighting sexual abuse, particularly among peers.

It's a journey of knowledge acquisition, but it also explores the challenges young people face regarding GBV. Let's join hands to ensure young people are free from all forms of GBV and have a safe space to learn, access livelihood opportunities, and sustain their lives.

♿💙 #miundombinujumuishi by @zakia.daudi.30

June was a whole vibe 🥂

Learned you can show up, do the work, and still have fun.

This intervention? Straight-up healing 😌 .You don’t need a serious face for serious conversations. Smile. Laugh. Breathe.

When organizations unite around a shared vision, change becomes possible.

In early May, alongside the Head of Programs at Juwauza, Ms @zakia.daudi.30 we had the privilege of meeting with the @wildaftz team to explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of women—especially women with disabilities.

Our conversation reaffirmed a powerful truth: when we build strong partnerships, we amplify voices, break barriers, and create more inclusive spaces where every woman can thrive and lead.

Together, we are planting the seeds for a future where no woman is left behind.

✨ Stronger together. Greater impact together.

_National Symposium on Unpaid Care, Disability Inclusion and Gender-Transformative Approach_

For too long, caregiving was quiet, unpaid, and unseen.
Today we name it. Unpaid care is the work done out of love and duty, not salary — the 24/7 care that holds up families and drives economies forward.

This platform is more than talk. It’s a commitment to value the hands that do the holding. Led by a consortium of @undptz , @unwomen , @sematanzania , and @unfpatz advocating for systemic change in how disability-friendly public services are provided and implemented.

Proud to be part of a consortium pushing for public systems that recognize, support, and include people with disabilities + caregivers.
Sharing insights to strengthen disability inclusion every step of the way.
