Now that’s a product launch 🚀

Yes, we used AI to give the 10-gallon BubbleTek thrusters. The legal team wouldn’t approve the real ones. by @zedmin

A little BubbleTek easter egg 🥚

The feet on your BubbleTek Extractor are actually 3" tri-clamps. Want to secure it to your work surface? We have a bolt-down kit for that.

The best part: the feet stay mounted, and the tank lifts off when you need to remove it.

Happy washing! 🧊 by @zedmin

A hoppy IPA and fresh-pressed plant resin are chemically closer than most people realize.

Hops are loaded with aromatic compounds like myrcene, humulene, and β-caryophyllene. Those same terpene families show up across all kinds of plants, where they help create aroma, flavor, and natural defense chemistry.

So we put hops through the Hashtek 65A, collected the resin, then sent it to High North for terpene testing before and after pressing.

The result was wild:

Myrcene started at 0.5% and finished at 2.46% after pressing. Humulene and β-caryophyllene both climbed by almost 7×.

That means the press was not just changing the texture. It was concentrating the compounds responsible for that bright, earthy, spicy, unmistakably hoppy aroma.

A few cool facts:

• Humulene is one of the signature terpenes behind hops’ woody, herbal, beer-like character.
• β-caryophyllene is also found in black pepper, cloves, and rosemary, which is why those aromas can overlap.
• Myrcene is known for earthy, herbal notes and is a major part of fresh hop aroma.
• Heat and pressure can reduce the bulk plant material while concentrating the aromatic resin fraction, which is why the post-press profile jumps so much.

We posted this experiment on our old account before it was taken down, but it deserved a proper repost here.

The full COA is now live at hashtek.ca/hops.

Can you think of a use for hop rosin?

Salmon scraps + white sugar turned into a three-year garden project 🐟🌱

This is FAA, or Fish Amino Acid. We chopped up salmon scraps, mixed them 1:1 by weight with sugar, and let time do the work.

The footage in this video is from one year into the ferment, when the fish had fully emulsified into a dark liquid concentrate. That same batch is now three years old and still going strong.

Fun fact: the sugar draws moisture out of the fish, and over time the proteins break down into amino-acid-rich liquid. FAA is mostly used as a nitrogen feed, which helps support lush green vegetative growth. It can also carry some phosphorus, calcium, and trace minerals from the fish, but it is not a balanced NPK fertilizer and the exact nutrient content varies batch to batch.

We only use this stuff during the vegetative phase, when the plants are building leaves and structure.

We used to run it through a pump and sprinkler setup, but the FAA eventually clogged things up. Now we mix it into a 20-gallon bucket of water, then dip in with a 5-gallon bucket and water the plants by hand. Less fancy, more reliable.

Important lesson: do not feed this stuff full strength.

Someone told us to try that once. The grass we hit with it died, and three years later it still has not grown back 😂

Would you make your own FAA, or are you sticking with the bottle? by @zedmin
