Perhaps I avoided a proper birthday reflection post because I wanted ignore the fact that Aquarius season is now long gone. But looking back at these photos and moments from birthday weekend, I wasn’t sad, but rather filled with erupting joy and overwhelming giggles at how much silliness and fun we had.

I firmly believe that every year is special, every birthday has something to offer. But this party was truly one for the books. The whole day, weekend, truly even the month of February, I was warmly embraced in love and adoration and friendship and community and art and costumes and pretty much everything important to me.

As much as I love to host my birthday each year, it is always a struggle to stay present and relaxed against my own inherent pressure to make sure everyone is having the best time. But this year felt different. I felt calm, unstressed, conscious and mindful to engage genuinely with each person I could. To take moments to pause, listen to the chatter across crowded rooms, bask in the expressions of the audience as my beloved friends in drag commanded the room.

What a special life I live.
How truly valuable and unique and lucky are the parties and encounters and relationships that I get to deem normal and commonplace.
How privileged to be surrounded by such exceptional people, skilled and kind alike.

I fight hard against the cynicism that seems inherent with aging. But most years it seems easier. The world around us grows darker but the circle, the community, the family we cultivate, it grows stronger and brighter if we nurture it.

I embark into this next year hopeful and strong, supported and ready to offer support in return.
So fucking aware of who matters,
who loves me and I them,
(And honestly so ambivalent to those who don’t).

Every Tuesday night from 8-9pm MST (aka 10 - 11pm EST) you can tune in to a curated playlist of global funk, soul, jazz, instrumental & any other groovy tune that makes you move.

It’s been too long since things got properly spooky and haunted at Haus…so this Halloween come get your tricks and treats on with one of the most stacked Halloweens the Haus has ever seen!

Live entertainment will be happening ALL NIGHT LONG
-Killer DJs @callaforza & @billywirasnik will be keeping the moody dance party going late into the early hours
-local girl band @boistheband will play a set of spooky, rockin covers
-And our biggest lineup of drag and burlesque performances at the Haus to date! Scattered throughout the evening from 9pm - 12:30am come prepared* for chilling and alluring acts from

(Same goes with snacks - some light bites and possible late nite pizza order, but contributions welcome)

For the first time in six years I will be charging a $5-10 cover at the door for ALL guests. This is partially to ensure fair payment to performers and contributors, as well as cover the cost of prep, breakdown, decorations, and liability. (Plus we all know this is less than you’d spend on cover to go into an overcrowded club downtown). Venmo or cash payment at the door.

In the blink that was September I somehow forgot to share these lovely shots of the last @pvdlemonadestand of the season. All shot by the very talented @gaydragongeek

I’m a cold weather kinda gal through and through, but this season of outdoor markets was such fun. Lounging in the grass, live music, new friends, enjoying those occasionally perfect New England summer days.

I really was feeling the color pink this summer too! I’ve always thought of Siren & Saint as a moody, autumnal, dark colored kinda identity but hey, maybe in the very spirit of containing multitudes and dualities that SSV was founded on, the color palette and branding of SSV should be seasonal and changing as well? Sunny spring and summer days feel like rosy pink and vibrant green to me.

While I’ll miss cold crispy drinks in the sunshine, I am OH SO ready for spiced spiked toddies by the firepit, cozying up the halls of @rauschhauspvd with vendors and live music while the cold rages outside. There is a beautiful magic to indoor markets too, seducing friends and strangers to leave their homes for cozy community.

So until we’re back in the sunshine of @pvdlemonadestand or @swellfolkfestival or the @rauschhauspvd backyard, let’s find (and make!) the occasions to gather and support and exchange in the cold months ahead 💙 taken in Providence, Rhode Island by @zzombrie

So have you ever had a slow, quiet period in your life and then catastrophized it and worried you may never be busy or see friends ever again and therefore booked every possible gig and occasion you could, only then to realize, holy shit maybe I overdid it?
No me neither.

In any case, October is gonna be a wild adventure of fun and chaos and I hope to see your lovely faces as many opportunities as possible!

I’m sooo pleased and excited to announce my first time producing a burlesque show, and it’s with my best bud @cheerfultheclown by my side. On Saturday 10/10 we bring you The Meltdown: Adulting to AS220. Come and watch this incredible cast show you the struggles of adulthood in drag/burlesque fashion. It will be a hot mess in every sense of the words.

Oh, and it just may be my very first duet performance too! This act will most likely never be done again, so if you have fomo like me, you won’t wanna miss this show.

We missed you in September cause of the dumb rain, but we’re back at Myrtle with our monthly bazaar of local vendors and makers. Shop vintage, vinyl, art, and more at everyone’s favorite pvd bar with a tasty cocktail in hand. It’s never too late to start shopping for the holidays (or find your Halloween costume!).

Scenes of serenity and silliness, hope and joy, from the beloved seasonal transition of summer to fall.

To more cats and cuddles, firepits and fire ‘fits, dancing and daydreaming ; I want to slow down, to cherish and celebrate the collection of beautiful people and circumstances that comprise my day to day. To choose to bask in gratitude when there are so many massive reasons to be shrouded in worry.

Time for my predictably tardy post of gratitude for the annual magical occurrence that is Green Mountain Gathering (or GMG as you get to say once you’re in the know).

This beautiful chunk of land and sky feels like its own little universe, away from all the noise and chaos of everyday life. Quiet (except when the local hound dog wakes you up at 5:30), peaceful (until you give a 10 year old a day-long capture the flag mission), and inviting (yes even the 55 degree creek).

But it’s not just the property that makes this weekend so spectacular. It’s really the caretakers and organizers of GMG that have transformed camping on a friends’ property into an occasion of community, creativity, & gratitude. More specifically, that is my dear friend @pollybessette and her siblings (@alexwatrous) (and now partner!). There were organized games, family meals, camping supplies, & BATHROOMS for 40+ people, all on their own dime. All for the love of it. And all with endless good vibes and conversation to match.

I was lucky enough to experience GMG for the first time two years ago & what a treat it was to be back, this time with a lil crew of my own along. Isn’t it beautiful to watch things grow and evolve while in some ways remaining exactly the same?

New things of this GMG : conquering the zip line, expertly cooked breakfast, creek baptismals, Snow team, rats the people

Things that stay the same : loud noises at dawn, dogs, the sunsets, underprepared for rain, coloring marathons, the people

Somehow it’s already halfway through September (when?! How?!) and yet I still have FIVE incredible events ahead and opportunities to come see and support me (or @margot.a.gogo 😜)

Whether you like live music, burlesque, theater, tattoos, or local businesses (or if you’re amazing and like ALL of those things) then this is the month for you. So many exciting and creative experiences happening this fall.

Starting tonight!

My first time performing at the legendary stage that is Punk Rockin and Pastie Poppin at the Midway Cafe. Always an incredible cast, great turnout, amazing energy, and a whole lotta fun.

This Friday! I’ll be hosting one of the weekend’s several burlesque shows curated by @sirenofthecircle

I hosted one of these shows @bostontattooconvention last year and it was so much fun. Can’t wait to introduce another killer cast!

This Sunday! It’s been a year on the horizon but the first annual @swellfolkfestival is happening at Lippitt Park. It’s a FULL DAY of live music, food, drinks, activities, and lots and lots of vendors!

I’ll be in the specialty vintage/vinyl vendor corridor with a big ol tent packed to the brim with vintage goodies and treasures for everyone. So excited to see more music events happening in our little state and even more thrilled to be a part of it!

By far one of my favorite shows to be a part of all year, it’s of course @infatuationtheshow - this time, Theater in the Round style. See an absolutely insane lineup of beautiful big bodies all to your favorite theater soundtrack.

I’ll be kittening this show (and maybe even making some sneaky lil appearances onstage).

But there’s literally only 5 tickets left soooo…hope you bought them early.

And closing out September in style, it’s the seasons last Music & Makers event at my home, @rauschhauspvd and we’re going out with a bang.

Sometimes one of your very talented besties will come over late one night and excitedly turn to you and say, “let’s make that ___!” And if you are fortunate enough to have wildly talented and creative and artistic friends like I do you will end up turning a lace tablecloth into a bustled, hippie, Stevie Nicks-style dress over a few short hours and learn a bit about sewing and clothes making along the way.

To the darling nymph that is @clown_tower_studio - maker of many of my wild outfits and ensembles - thank you for your unbridled enthusiasm for art and making and crafting and creativity. Your vision and patience when making something out of nothing is inspiring. To many more collaborative projects.

The magic of friend-making in providence 💙

I enjoy these photos for a lot of reasons. They were taken this past Saturday @pvdlemonadestand when @gaydragongeek came around the booth and started snapping some candids. (I’m never one to turn down a photo opp 😛) They hung out at the tent for a bit, sitting in the grass and conversing with the various folks who had settled in the shade with us. The talking all came naturally, easily.

But what I was most taken by after seeing these photos (besides their beautiful composition and lighting), was the magic and confluence of random moments and meetings that converged to make these photos happen :

There’s @abbywrightart who I met through a market at my haus, though she had seen me speak at @pechakuchapvd only just before. And in the months since our meeting has become my dear, fellow Aquarian close friend.

Then there’s @thewickedwitchoftheworms who, for a while, I knew solely through a game of D&D I was not participating in, and who is now one of my closest confidantes (and creative genius of all my wacky costume pieces and ideas).

And there’s another Abby seen here, who despite not knowing super well, I forged a beautiful connection to her and her partner at my NYE party this year, & who I seem to run into at beautiful and unexpected moments. I met them, in turn from Laina, who is one of the hosts of Lemonade Stand and invited me to be part of it in the first place…

And on and on it goes.

I know this is how most connections and friendships are founded in life, through a serious of complicated networks and moments. But getting to visualize them, to look on pictures of moments and reflect on just how many twists and turns of the road it took to get there is, well, overwhelming to say the least.

I’m really so grateful for this little city. For the ability to experience such a diverse and wide-reaching community of individuals. To remember that even when the lack of anonymity is exhausting, that there is so much beauty and gratitude to be found in the intertwining spiderwebs of communities. taken in Providence, Rhode Island by @zzombrie
