"Disposable Terrain (Yellow Bliss)"
2026
oil on panel
10 x 10 x 1 inches

This new body of work stems from my interest in invented/fictitious landscapes and considering our anthropogenic impact on the earth. These paintings are all based on models I created from single-use plastics from my household consumption. Once melted and manipulated to take on new forms, I light and photograph them to use as a painting reference. While individual works, this series was initially intended to be viewed in a suite of six, transitioning from top-left to bottom-right, transitioning from yellow to deep purple.

These will be on view in the two-person show "While Away" opening at 5-50 Gallery on July 11th, 2026.

As my new work in my plastic landscape evolves, I wanted to share a little bit of the behind-the-scenes of the creation of the newest piece in the opening @550gallery in Long Island city on July 11.

This is a new larger work that has a satisfying multicolor fade in the background. I took a time lapse to share the process here. I love a good fade, it’s a ton of pre-mixing and a lot of dry brush fading.

Looking forward to seeing you all at 5–50 Gallery in July and August to see all the new works in person!
