We’ve written to the Prime Minister, alongside the #VATsTheProblem campaign and 800+ hospitality operators, calling for a lower rate of VAT for hospitality.

Hospitality businesses are facing continued increases in costs, making it harder to operate sustainably. A lower rate of VAT would make a meaningful difference to restaurants, pubs, cafés, hotels, nightclubs and leisure venues across the UK.

More than 370,000 people have already signed the petition.

10% is fair for hospitality.

If you work in hospitality, or simply want to support the sector, add your name to the petition and share it with your teams, customers, suppliers, friends and family.

Such an honour and a joy to be awarded the Cruz de Oficial de la Orden de Isabel la Catalólica from the King of Spain and the Spanish Government for services to Spain.

This award is for @samhartsgroup and all of our incredible team @barrafinalondon for the work we do building lasting relationships with regional artisan producers and bringing some of Spain's most exciting chefs to London through Barrafina Invita, to Barrafina's first international opening this year in Dubai - a reflection of all of our passion and dedication over nearly 20 years.

It was a wonderful ceremony at the Spanish Embassy in London yesterday evening, celebrated alongside friends, family, the Barrafina team and our incredible Spanish colleagues.

This honour reflects our longstanding commitment to sharing the richness, diversity and generosity of Spanish hospitality.

We were honoured to be invited to cater for International Women’s Day by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce at the Spanish Embassy with the new and first woman Spanish Ambassador to the UK, Emma Aparici Vázquez de Parga. On 25th March we are excited to be welcoming Aarón Ortiz, chef founder of the Michelin starred Restaurante Kabo in Pamplona Navarra, for a one night only tasting menu at Barrafina Borough Yards. Kabo, led by Aarón and Head of Service, Jaione Aizpurua, is a celebration of hyper-local agriculture. Nestled in the fertile plain of the Arga River, the restaurant is built on a fierce commitment to small local producers and a love of the kitchen garden. Aarón will be cooking a six course tasting menu celebrating the breadth and quality of Navarran cooking, showcasing produce from the northern, central and southern areas of Navarra. Highlights include trout from Yesa, suckling lamb in lamb broth and spring onion from Larraga and Maskarada pancetta with hollandaise and leek from Mendavia. A stunning lunch at La Taberna del Chef del Mar from Chef Ángel León of Aponiente today - including ensaladilla con pilpil de ajo y guindilla y camarones fritos, steak tartare de lubina de estero, chicharonnes de piel de morena crujientes and plankton arroz.
