Truly in honor to be included in this list! :) by @bigslickatx

This is arguably the most impressive housemade bread service in town!

The house-made sourdough is paired with wine-soaked fig leaf butter topped with with a tableside presentation.

@bigslickatx new boutique steakhouse, Michelin-starred pastry chef Margarita Kallas-Lee takes something as simple as bread and butter and turns it into an experience that should be celebrated.

It's the kind of attention to detail that makes Big Slick one of Austin's most intriguing new dining destinations.

Austin, I fear my date-night standards are permanently ruined. 🥩🍷

Big Slick was hands down the best dining experience I’ve had in Austin—and I’m still thinking about it.

Intimate, private, chef-driven, and so intentional. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, but it was the way the whole evening felt that made it special. The kind of dinner where you slow down, savor every bite, and immediately start figuring out when you can come back. 😂

We went for dinner and left with a new favorite memory. 🤍

Save this for your next special occasion, and send it to the person you want across the table. by @bigslickatx

🥩 A new boutique steakhouse just opened in Austin @bigslickatx

Chef Phillip Frankland Lee and his wife, Margarita, are elevating the steakhouse experience with this intimate, 22-seat restaurant featuring premium, dry-aged beef. Their goal? To be the Best Steakhouse in Texas… and after our meal, we definitely think they’re onto something here.

Everything we tried was exceptional, but the burrata salad was a standout. The cheese is stretched just seconds before it hits your plate, making it unbelievably creamy and fresh. We also loved the smoked bluefin tuna carpaccio, lobster pasta and dry-aged ribeye.

And here’s the insider tip 👀 Reservations are booked out months in advance, BUT they welcome walk-ins in the front lounge where you can order from the full menu. The restaurant was packed when we visited, but the lounge was empty—so this might be your sneaky way to get in!

Incase you were wondering the secret to our Latvian tomato salad @bigslickatx , now you know. Everyone in the kitchen must put a cucumber peel on their forehead or it just won’t taste good. I didn’t believe it myself, but after trying to adapt my mother-in-law‘s recipe for weeks, she pointed out what I was missing, and as soon as the team started putting the cucumber on our heads, immediately the salad became incredible! I think this just goes to show that the happier the kitchen the yummier the food :) by @bigslickatx

Newest steakhouse in Austin, Texas. If you’re a steak person you get it. @bigslickatx

They source their beef exclusively from Lobels of New York, they dry age in house and yes, they even make their own butter. Like come on.
The appetizer that absolutely blew me away is called “endive and the rest of the duck” , and it’s exactly what it sounds like. They use the other parts of the duck to create a mousse, using organs, and various parts & if your adventurous enough to try this, this is one of my favorite appetizers in the whole city.
we also ordered the beef tartare (I have photos no video but listen) It really blew me away. Every detail seemed so minute, but played Such such a big part, dry aging the beef for 10 days, dehydrating the fat cap, etc… It reminded me a bit of Thanksgiving, there are bits of celery in there and homemade croutons so it reminded me of a very elevated stuffing dish.

The beef tallow beignets have this cardamom cream with caviar on top and they will change your life.

Honorable mention you get to pick your own custom steak /hunting knife here, I just love how this adds to the whole dinner experience. by @bigslickatx

If you haven't been to @bigslickatx in Austin yet then you are missing out! Chef @phillipfranklandlee has created a dining experience that is like no other in the city. The restaurant is only 22 seats and is a full 2.5 hour dining experience. We truly enjoyed all the food we had but the main highlights were the burrata, tagliatelle pasta with lobster and the Big Slick which is a 40oz tomahawk ribeye. All the meat is dry aged and imported from farm butcher Lobels out in New York. This place out there has been around for 180 years so you know they are doing something right.

The aesthetic of the restaurant was beautiful. All of the paintings were done with charcoal by the talented @ansongordonart which we recommend you taking a second to enjoy when you are there. 10/10 experience and worth going for a special occassion. Go check them out and thank us later🙏🏾 #austinfoodheads by @bigslickatx
