@engineeredstrengthgym midwinter series was awesome.

Despite wanting to puke from nerves for all of the first 3 events & being forced to puke after the fourth event (no surprise, the wheel of pain), I had fun. @kurt_liftsnz & @savagetrex put together a great competition for us all to battle for our chance to go to @nzstrongest nationals in September. Thank you

Event 1, yoke power stairs: 3rd place

Event 2, front hold: 3rd place & joint 2nd overall

Event 3, log press for reps: 4th place & still joint 2nd overall

Event 4, wheel of pain: joint 2nd & now 3rd place overall

Event 5, stone for reps: joint 3rd

Final placing 3rd

I am very proud of this performance, I did everything I said I would going into this competition & it got me the result I wanted. 3rd place here is my most meaningful result of 5 years doing strongman so far & gets me my spot to compete at nationals for the first time

My coach: @whatmegdoes_ legend for putting up with me being miserable & still getting me the result I needed

My gym: @engineeredstrengthgym a fantastic place to train that has only gotten & will only continue to get better

Just realized once again that all the tops & bottoms of the videos got cut off.

Video 1 is a 360kg yoke for 20 meters
Video 4 is 220kg & 230kg deadlifts

Good week training with @jayden_smith_0 in his prep for @officialstrongmangames this man always impresses me with his efforts in the gym

For myself I'm happy to have hit a couple personal bests, a VERY slow & not so steady pb on the yoke but a solid 10kg pb on the log that I'm stoked with. Then a good bit of effort on deadlifts & some moving event practice & keeping my heart rate up a bit

Happy with this holiday training block, back when I was super fat rather than just fat this volume would have bloody near killed me
