We have a habit of defining ourselves by the present. But our present is nothing but a summation of our past. There’s no subtraction, no negation. The question of “would you do that again?” is truly impossible to answer.

Been through a few certifications or programs that are certifications masquerading under other nouns. An undergrad degree in aerospace engineering, commissioning from the Naval Academy, earning my wings in the Navy, and now this. Basically an existence of “nope, don’t like that” and “nope, that’s just not it,” and finally this.

And, so, I’m pretty dang psyched to be an AMGA Certified Rock Guide and immensely grateful for those in my life that allow and support me in chasing the elusive and dodgy dream.

Resilience.

The South Fork of the American River is born five miles east of its junction with Pyramid Creek, and flows through the char and wreckage left by the Caldor fire, only to meet giant evergreens on its journey past the Leap.

There’s face climbing and then there’s this — nostril climbing.

Thanks to Sarah, Chad, and Mel for being keen on Eeyore’s Enigma — and for absolutely styling the unstylable.

Joshua Tree just cracks me up.

No, but in all seriousness, what do people say? Something about a four star hang and two star climbing? Come on, the climbing is at least 2.5 stars.

@mintzrock on the radical Vector.

Really, it’s the Timmy Horton’s that keeps us coming back.

Weirdly enough, the only other Tim Horton’s I’ve ever seen was on a Navy base in Norfolk, VA. Weird.

And for some reason, neither @fosteringclimbing nor @livinontheledge wore actual pants. At least @muffintuesday (though not exclusive to Tuesday) got the memo.

A little chunk of Yosemite, this thing. Vanishing Point on Lover’s Leap’s Main Wall.

Horizontals Galore. @vshih34 redpointing the classically height-dependent Power Lust.

Thanks for the fun morning out, @emmsnead, Nate, & @reckless_jamming.

Dear John hangs.

@fosteringclimbing on the God of Thunder — not to be confused with the God of Thunder to the left or the merciless God of Thunder above.
