I’m a Master of Science!

I read something by @mattzhaig this week just before my graduation - “it’s amazing how much you can do while still being terrified, and fear gives up when it isn’t listened to”.

This really resonated with me, as those close to me know I really struggled when I first started my Masters. My dad used to have to drive up with me to the module weeks as I was so anxious. Now look what I’ve still been able to achieve, a Distinction in Sustainability and Adaptation (something I’m really bloody passionate about)! This isn’t a big me up post, it’s a post to say to anyone that may be struggling - it doesn’t define you, and you too can achieve something great, despite being terrified.

💚 thanks for the best 2 years CAT, I’m so proud to be part of a place thats been at the forefront of tackling and adapting to Climate Change 💚 taken in Centre for Alternative Technology by @daniellejenkinson

Summer 2026 part 3 🦎

Wow it’s been a hot one (climate change anxiety through the roof, I won’t lie 🙃).

I do love the sun - if you know me, you know, but this summer has been intense, far from normal & v worrying I can’t ignore.

In other summer news, I also snatched 60kg, yay! Visited friends 💛 and celebrated pending arrivals 👶🫶!

Being impressed vs. being inspired…

My teacher @wyevalleyyoga discussed this in our last couple of classes, whilst we were demonstrating some backbends.

I’ve been thinking about the difference between the two for me and I think often it comes down to where your attention goes.

Being impressed is typically focused on the other person or thing. You notice their skill, success or achievement and think “that’s amazing”. Because it involves comparison, it can easily become entangled with the ego: “They’re better than me,” or “I wish people saw me that way.” It can lead to admiration, envy, or a desire for status.

Being inspired is typically focused on what becomes possible for you. Instead of stopping at admiration, something in you is activated: “If they can do that, maybe I can grow too.” The emphasis shifts from comparison to possibility.

To feel impressed: The ego often evaluates and ranks. It asks, “Where do I stand relative to them?” This can inflate the ego (“I’m as good as they are”) or deflate it (“I’ll never measure up”).
To feel inspired: The ego tends to recede because the focus is on learning, creating, or becoming. The question becomes, “What can I take from this?” rather than “How do I compare?”

In Yoga class and life, I believe it’s really important to catch what we’re being driven by. So that we feel moved and activated for the right reasons, it’ll last longer 💛🌞🫶.

Wild Atlantic Way, Day 12-14

County Kerry & a drive through County Cork, Waterford & Wexford.

Oh boy did Ireland put on a show for us for the last few days of our trip…

Derrynane Beach, laying on rocks in tucked away coves. My favourite camp spot at Coornagillagh Cove meters from the water, a sauna and spotting seals on the kayak with a beautiful sunset backdrop. Wandering around markets in Bantry & driving through Healeys pass.

It’s been a wild two weeks living out of a little tent and the b2r van (thank you @luke_b2r & @callie_b2r ).

The weather on the West Coast is FULL on & full of surprises - one minute it’s blue sky & the next you’re fighting for your life against the wind & retrieving your tent from a hedge or entering the sea (yes this happened a fair few times).

Having a Grandad from Ireland I’ve always felt a draw to its charm. The West Coast of Ireland is unbelievable - the scenery, tradition, culture, nature. But, what probably stands out the most was the warmth and humour of the Irish people, they were so welcoming and made the whole trip or the more memorable 🍀🇮🇪.

Now to hug Skye for a week and appreciate my bed more than ever 🫶. Road trip over and out!

Man v Horse 2026

What a bloody cool race to happen here in the heart of Mid Wales, 15 minutes away from home 😍.

The concept dates back to 1980 at the back bar of the Neuadd Arms in Llanwrtyd Wells. The pub’s landlord, overheard two locals debating whether a human could outpace a horse over a long distance. So in a bid to boost tourism in Britain’s smallest town, they organised the first race. The race still starts in the town square and takes runners and riders through the (hard) multi-terrain hills of mid-Wales.

Some friends and I signed up for the relay & others the full marathon (!!). What a great day, big thanks to friends & family for coming to support & I can confirm I do not wish to run / climb up that second hill (see last slide for reference) again anytime soon 🥵.

Until next year… 🙃

🌞🌞🌞

Can you feel it
As it’s running through your bones?
Can you hear it?
‘Cause it’s all you’ve ever known
When you think you forgot where you came from
No matter where you look, it’s the same, the same old sun.
