POSTS STORIES REELS

Chapbook release TUES OCTOBER 27 at @toposbookstore. With the supersonic Courtney Bush, @alexisfarrisalmeida, and @henry_charles_peterson. The mecha suits will sortie on Myrtle Ave. 7 pm. by @danitype.dani

New chapbook, available now. English-language poetry. 36 pp. Three short, one long. Couple pictures in there too. Venmo $12 & shipping address to: urizen2

Poems post-Stream, shit it’s nice not to write about the internet. Poems about a medieval approach. Poems about things you can do along the skin barrier. Poems about boosting your arcane stat. Poems about when you have to walk through a door that closes the other doors. Poems about “the membrane is like a liquid crystal to the sky.” Poems about how you were dead before you were born. Poems about posing with your PlayStation in the 11th century. Poems cataloguing numerous alloys you can cover your whole body in.

Grateful to be included on @ua.wilk’s anarchic new imprint Urizen II, which publishes to my understanding poetry from all angles all the time, a distributed editorial force of being numerous, the rule is no rules, he’s publishing things that come when they must by the means available. The printer’s in charge. by @danitype.dani

Urizen II [002] – Full Length Mecha Suit by Dani Baker. 36pp. To order, venmo @urizen2 $12 w/ a mailing address.

Full Length Mecha Suit is a “work of pure ignition,” a suite of poems traveling mecha-style and guided by a 17th century celestial atlas in search of belated fragments of song, which pulse “along the skin barrier.” Baker returns from her “studies in the content areas,” reminding us again and again, intimately and expansively, that “this world is the only no place / to live.”

I’m getting to the bottom of it by @danitype.dani

My team has informed me it’s “Leo season.” I’m 36 years old. In the coming weeks I’ve been granted opportunities to read poetry to a captive audience along with many D1 hitters. Next Fri to celebrate the launch of Canton Editions at @molassesbooks, then after hours with @cropcirclepress at Oberon, a restaurant which emphasizes seasonal ingredients and everyday dining. But it’ll be late, there won’t be food. Be reasonable. My team is made up of experts in numerous fields. I myself will have just returned from investigations into several domains. by @danitype.dani

A huge part of the poetic practice involves the removal of metal
from a copper plate, which we tune to resonate with
solar flares. The result is a medium more magnetic than grammar,
triggering supple desire. Because all the invisible domains align
better, I’m writing a series of super-imposed studies where
I’m a spurious vocoder used to speak on behalf of stone fruit.
I’m thinking things I shouldn’t say. But would it surprise the audience
to learn that’s love? Or at least one of the forty-seven sub-types, e.g.
you / Taste like heaven to me, etc. In the Current Age of Poetic
Composition, at the suggestion of my publisher, Johannes
Janssonius, the speaker is made out of oil-stained clouds
pitch-shifted up and clipping between self- and reference.
That’s shown in a chapter from my unpublished epistolary novel,
Clarissa; or, The History of a Young Lady: Comprehending
the Most Important Concerns of Private Life, endogenously produced.
But I reworked it for my pseudonymously published, Dani;
or, Delirious Hand-Crushed Half-Silence in Orange Flower
Water: Translating Alembic Syntheses from 40 A.D.; or, Full Length
Mecha Suit.

I don’t talk about it much in this particular webhole, but in order to make money to live I’m a specialist in rare books, manuscripts, &c — and today very happy to announce I’m going out on my own.

@heavenacid is my bookselling enterprise dedicated to radical ruptures in thought spanning ca. the 15th century to the present: insurgency, urgency, genuine firsts, histories neglected in the bibliographical record, revolutions actual & intellectual, the undercommons, the avant-garde, and their intersections with the technology of the book and print. Or whatever else I think is solid and know a thing or two about. ‘Heavenacid’ is Joris’ translation of Celan’s ‘Himmelssäure.’

Will be launching with my first catalogue at the end of summer. For now, sign up for the mailing list & smash that follow button if you long to see paper in various states, xoxo by @danitype.dani
