Today, we honor the men and women who have served this country with courage, sacrifice, and heart.

As a veteran, service has shaped every bit of my life. From the uniform I wore, to the way I lead, to the community we’ve built here at Rec-Mode.

This gym was created with the same values I learned through service: discipline, resilience, teamwork, and taking care of the people beside you.

To my fellow veterans: thank you for your service, your strength, and the sacrifices you and your families have made. We are stronger together.

A day Rec mode, Maxine and I won’t forget. ❤️🙏🏾

Starting with the County Council passing the vote for Rec-mode and the Street Outreach Network to receive critical funding—helping us continue showing up, creating safe spaces, mentoring, and supporting the young people and families we serve EVERY DAY. That alone was a blessing and a reminder that the fight, persistence, and work are worth it. Thank you President Fani-Gonzalez and Councilmember’s!🙏🏾

Then being humbled and grateful to join Maryland House Speaker Joseline Peña-Melnyk, Maryland House Deputy Speaker Jared Solomon, and an amazing list of Delegates from across Maryland—an incredible opportunity to meet, connect, and share conversations with so many leaders in one room.

THANK YOU Jared for personally inviting Maxine and I, and your support of Rec-mode, our mission, and the youth we serve. That means more than you know brother.🙏🏾❤️

I appreciated the opportunity to attend the State of Mid-County Communities Summit at Quince Orchard High School, hosted and moderated by Tiffany Kelly.

One thing continues to stand out to me: we need to do a better job of listening to our young people. They are bright, connected, informed, and deserve a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect them.

The same is true for the Black and Brown communities we advocate for. My job is to listen to all voices, understand their experiences, and work toward policies that can have the greatest positive impact on our students, families, educators, and community.

Thank you @iamtiffanykelly for hosting this important summit that brought attention to the PEOPLE who've been left behind and marginalized at your inaugural mid-county summit (Mid-County Democratic Breakfast club)in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

It was my honor to participate on the panel that centered the Black experience in this part of "progressive, liberal" Montgomery County, Maryland.

I am glad to learn that my comments and @westbaltimorelove remarks had people "clutching their pearls." 💪🏾🤣

GOOD! People are DONE with business as usual. Gaslighting and playing in our faces while they continue to cater to the billionaire class in the region.

It's predictable that the city of Gaithersburg elected leadership got up and left right in the middle of the program. Right before our panel that centered Black people's experience in @midcountymoco. The hate is REAL in how they govern.

Another one in the books. I want to thank everyone who came out, supported me, and believed in me throughout this journey. Seeing so many familiar faces in the crowd meant more than you know. And a huge thank you to Coach Randolph, Coach Mike, Coach Dave, Coach Tony, and Eric. I truly couldn’t have done this without you guys. Thank you for the time, work, guidance, and belief you’ve put into me. I’m grateful to have you all in my corner. 🥊

My councilmembers made me proud today. In today’s special hearing, the health and human services commission voted unanimously on a special appropriation that will help to find programming at @recmodefitness. Miss folks, this is a family run business that deeply invest in the youth of our community and they don’t turn one of them away. Ever. We need to expand this program from downtown county to Up County.
