D1 year is finally wraps and man has it been a year. Blessed to have such an amazing group of individuals around me- real deal classmates turned into friends turned into family. Thankful to my parents, family, classmates, colleagues, dentists, mentors, faculty, my big that I keep annoying, and everyone who believe in me. Your words of encouragement or just simply checking up on me will never go unnoticed. The goal is to continue making a positive impact and continue my journey to becoming the best dentist/ doctor I could possibly be. 1 year down, 3 more to go till I get my DDS.

Here are some of the things I’ve learned this year:

🔘You HAVE to be uncomfortable to learn yourself- this is the only way you will grow. If you are comfortable, you are doing it all wrong.
🔘Run your own race
🔘Be selfless in everything - selfishness will only bring vou down.
🔘You will have your L’s - take them to the chin and keep it moving.
🔘Stick to your morals no matter what
🔘Learn from your peers, be open minded, and CONTINUE to seek help/ ask questions.
🔘CONTINUE TO SPEAK POSITIVELY OVER YOUR LIFE
- every test, practical, quiz, whatever it is .. I have learned to be more positive and expect the best possible grade EVEN if I’m doubtful. This will also reflect to other people as well!!!
🔘Be so confident in yourself, that you will bet on yourself time and time again.

Also big shoutout/ appreciation to my girl @jaelawithane who has believed in me since the day I met her. One of the first people that pushed me and believed in me. She took me under her wing and helped me in so many ways and I can’t thank you enough. I love you long long long time my sister 4L. taken in Meharry Medical College by @doctorshirazz

Honored to be nominated and accepted into the ADEA Student Leaders for Social Change program! A six-month, cohort based leadership experience focused on advocacy, social responsibility, and shaping the future of oral health. Grateful for the opportunity to grow and lead alongside inspiring peers and blessed to represent my institution, Meharry Medical College, on national levels ☺️

Yesterday we had the joy of serving our community by teaching the Girl Scouts about dentistry! 🦷✨ The girls learned how to care for their smiles, made their own dental casts, and asked some amazing questions about oral hygiene. Always a privilege to inspire the next generation to value healthy smiles.

I had the honor of returning to my alma mater, Tennessee State University, to speak with students who are preparing to graduate and step into the next chapter of their lives. Standing before them as an alum was a full-circle moment, because TSU truly changed my life.

This university poured into me in ways that shaped not only my career but also the person I am today. The lessons, mentorship, and community I received here gave me the foundation to soar, and for that I am forever grateful.

It has become my mission to pour back into the next generation, just as TSU poured into me. If even one word I shared can inspire or encourage someone to keep pushing forward, then I know I am honoring the legacy of this great institution.

Thank you, Tennessee State University, for molding me, guiding me, and reminding me always of the power of purpose. 💙🐯 #hbcu #hbcugrad #hbcupride #hbcugrad #tennesseestateuniversity #tsu #career taken in Tennessee State University by @doctorshirazz
