Today was the first really crisp morning of the fall here and then my photo history showed me this from today in 2023. I can’t believe this guy will be 5 next week. All you people who had kids way before me keep telling me how fast it goes by 😭 taken in Serenbe by @douglascdavis

My brilliant Booney has been really into the camera on his iPad lately. Tonight at bedtime he sat me down and showed me his camera roll and explained why he took each one… It’s fascinating to see the world through his eyes like that. And how he sees me, and sees his sister. Definitely one of those parenthood moments that made me cry 😭 by @douglascdavis

I’ve never been very good at keeping an extensive project list, and if I could go back in time I would start numbering the jobs from the beginning in 2012. I can tell you that this was in the first 10 after my firm (neé Hannon Douglas) was founded. I also know this is the first project where we provided residential architectural design services in addition to decorating…13 years later I’m back to make some further additions and improvements. Repeat business is always the highest compliment. #douglascdavis taken in Mountain Brook, Alabama by @douglascdavis
