@hubermanlab New words/phrase/terms I have continuously learned:
- brown fat
- thermogenesis ( a non-exercise activity)
- End with cold.
- don’t put your head underwater (you lose 33% of heat and brain does not handle extreme cold or extreme hot well) (hence my hat)
- I stay in usually around 3 min. Max 5-6min.
- I do cold water therapy about once-or twice a week so that the body doesn’t get accustomed to it. You generate more brown fat that way too.

I’ve been doing more in depth cold water therapy since being able to freely come to Lake Huron here in Port Austin.

I can tell you that in my experience this activity of leaping into ice cold water always creates hesitation.

The only thing that’s kept me from turning away is knowing how much more pain I would be in with all the inflammation from 2 disc herniations I’ve been nursing back to health since 2016 from a car crash.

Cold Water has been the one thing that has halted and decreased pain alongside x-39 patches @lifewavecorporate and doing consecutive days of focus works from @thesensologyinstitute for my energetic development. Also thankful for @stillpoint_acupuncture over the years.

I’m excited to show you what I’ve been working on come 2024.

Remembering Nadia & Revisiting “Mask”
Pic 1: The Post-It Note
“EVeRY THiNG MeaNs Something...”
This post-it note, locked in a vault, was a final message from my sister Nadia. Years after she passed, a key addressed from her in China arrived in the mail, sending my older sister and me on a journey to an Ohio bank vault to find her words. It was like she was still writing to me beyond the veil.
Today marks six years since she passed. I continue to navigate the grief of losing a sibling who struggled in a paralleled way.

In her memory, I’m revisiting “Mask,” the song co-written with Nigel Hemmye. The lyric “truth in your loss” has never been more real. I’m currently focused on working on a stripped-down, string arrangement with @sixmilestrings.

Here for a breath, and then gone.
The vernal ponds of Michigan don’t promise permanence. They are a sudden yielding of the earth, pooling in the quiet hollows of the woods just long enough to reflect the changing sky—and just long enough to cradle new life.
It is a profound paradox to witness: these fleeting, disappearing waters are the exact places where the forest is born. Within this temporary holding space, wood frogs and salamanders lay their eggs, trusting the short-lived sanctuary to hatch the next generation before the ground drinks the water back down.
If you stand quietly at the edge, you don’t just observe this shift—you feel it register in your nervous system. The sharp, damp cold sinking into your skin. The frantic, life-affirming pulse of the spring peepers vibrating up through the mud and into your bones. The sudden, physical awareness of life rushing to begin within a closing window of time.
It is a lesson in temporality. Our biology is so often wired to hold on tight, to brace against change, to build structures that last. But these ephemeral nurseries remind the body how to just be present with what is passing. To witness the profound act of beginning, and to sense the water slowly receding back into the soil without needing to make it stay. 💧🌲🐸

We’ve designed this experience to be as simple as possible.

What to Expect
• Dates: Friday, September 26 – Sunday, September 28 (optional stay through Monday, September 29). Arrive Friday after 3 p.m. and depart Sunday or Monday by noon.

Last Labor Day weekend felt like stepping into a circle of warmth — music, fire, and friendship intertwined.
