Preston, witnessing your evolution since our College Days has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. You’ve been a great friend, mentor, and confidant for 18 years. Love looks so damn good on you, and I can’t wait to witness it for eternity. 💛

seven years at @hiphopcaucus 🎈

There are people who’ve known me for decades and still ask “what do you do again?” Sadly, this post won’t fully explain it either. Just know I’m forever grateful for every path I’ve crossed, person I’ve met, and life I’ve touched. I’ve dedicated much of my career to nonprofit work, “making the world a better place” for the communities I love. And I do it with joy, skill, care.

I can’t tag everyone due to IG limitations, but I do want to give a shout out to @lizhavstad who contacted me about designing a landing page for $450 in 2019. I couldn’t have imagined that “one-time @clayandgroup contract” turning into a 7-year endeavor that would put me on international stages, working with artists and influencers to fight for future generations, producing award-winning films, and podcasts, and creating a space where I can combine my love for culture and community with my passion for Black and Brown liberation. It will take me a lifetime to create the world I want my son to thrive in, but I’m grateful that Hip Hop Caucus has been a vessel for me to get closer to that world.

Had to move production West but it’s whatever. 🎬

Incredibly proud of the team working to produce a forthcoming project called FLOW: For the Love Of Water.

FLOW shines a light on incredible waterways across the United States and dives deeper into the work being done to preserve and protect these crucial pillars of life. The story is told through the lens of the Indigenous people who have protected the land and water for thousands of years.

Cannot wait to share this project with the world soon. 💛

America turns 250 this year, and we're supposed to be celebrating. But when you're Black or brown in America, celebrating looks different.

Have you heard about the two brothers in Kansas City that set up a lemonade stand (like kids have done for generations), and someone's first instinct was to call 911 instead of asking for a cup? One of those boys was saving up to buy diapers for his niece and nephew.

250 years in, and the lemonade stand still isn't equally American depending on who's standing behind it. So this Independence Day, we're holding both truths at once: the joy of US and the weight of what this country still hasn't reckoned with.
