NGL Tales was a lot. A lot of fun, A lot of mixing and mingling, meeting a lot of my colleagues for the first time (there's a lot of us; it's a pack full of passionate people, I fit nicely here), a lot of letting go of ties I held close just a few years ago. Saw a lot of homies, danced a lot, ate a lot, worked a lot. Missed my kid a lot, missed my lady a lot. Learned a lot too. I listened to this song a lot, this one and Cranes In The Sky.

Im gonna tag the homies in the morning. Im going to bed.

I come from the cane. In many ways than one. In many lifetimes, The cane oppressed me. In this lifetime, the cane will free me.

To my great-great-grandfather, I forgive you. I forgive you because I don’t know what made you decide to take the trip to St. Lucia from Barbados but I’m grateful to you. To my great-grandfather, I thank you. I thank you for freeing us and for balancing the family scale. I thank you for purchasing the cane, the land, and the fruit trees. In this lifetime, the cane will free me: me and my family. Selah. taken in Mabouya Valley by @kigan.jo

I feel like I have to share my 2 cents on the experience we had on the Parkway for Labor Day.

But first, let's talk about @iamcaribbeing and the vibes with the crew! That fete that was building so nice, Lawd! Thank you to the @iamcaribbeing for steering the ship! Always a better time playing Mas with the liveliest for the last 3 years!

NGL, Crossing Kingston Ave, the only people that was ready was the crew straight mashing through the quietness with sound and spirit, A crew of mostly younger Caribbean people, crowd leaning mostly Haitian and other flags everywhere. (Shoutouts to the brother that ask my to remove my flag from rest and to put it back in the air 😂)🫡 but yea, a group of free and happy YNs enjoying their culture. Drums, shack shacks, horns, call and response, voices.. you know the vibes.

Anyway, See yall next year and remember to bring your own sound next time them try to shush us!

Somebody tag those incredible dancers! 🙏🏿

Couldn't be happier with my Father's Day surprise!
1) wifey got me fresh espresso for the mornings
2) momma got me a dad mug

Happy Father's Day to the Legion of Incredible Fathers! All the espresso-loving pops, the matcha ones too? Oh! We also accept Plant + Pet dads too! 🖤🫶🏿 by @kigan.jo
