Well… this one got personal.

SDVoyager featured my story - from the Navy → startups → construction tech → Pixly → fatherhood → Vibes Matter.

I talked about the wins, but more importantly, the struggles.

Building companies.
Running out of money.
Surviving an accident that nearly killed me.
Starting over.
Building Pixly.
Becoming a dad.
Getting knocked down.
Getting back up.
Again.
And again.

Life definitely hasn’t gone according to plan.

Maybe that’s the point.

Keep moving forward. Stay grateful. Keep building.

Had a great weekend. So much to be thankful and grateful for. We had my daughter’s five year birthday party and prepared her for kindergarten. Great day to Stand Up Paddle! Or mostly knee paddle. Either way, I am happiest in or near water 🦀.

Dusted off the big board and went to La Jolla Shores to see leopard sharks, lots of girabaldi, a turtle and caught some micro waves.

The water is really warm and it sure does feel like summer 🌞. If you are near SD I highly recommend you get out there. I’ll go back again soon with a snorkel.

Just had a big birthday. Of course, it made me think, reflect on how far I’ve come, how far I still have to go and how I will get there. Because I will get there.

TBH, the last few weeks were hard. A lot going on. But then I remembered everything I’ve done, survived and built and who is on my team.

I survived the Navy. Broke my back riding my dirt bike in the desert. Got hit by a car on my bicycle and left for dead. Survived big wave hold downs where I genuinely thought I might die.

And I am still here. Still standing. Still pushing. 💪

I have so much to be grateful for. Family. Being in love with my life partner. My health. Clients. Investors. Opportunities. Life.

Today, like most days, I am STOKED. 🤙

That’s my default mindset. My vibe. Sometimes I lose it.

But I always get it back. 💪

On a boat with some of the most important people in my life. ❤️

A lot has changed over the last few years. Some of it was hard. Some of it was beautiful. All of it, in its own way, has been blessings that brought me here.

Taking this boat out for a dinner cruise meant more to me than just dinner on the water. I can see my life from my Navy days to now and the future clearly.

I’m heading full steam in a great direction. Grateful for the people beside me, the journey behind me, and the wind at my back.

Sometimes life gives you the perfect reminder.

We went to a MindTravel piano concert at Moonlight Beach. It was even more beautiful than I imagined. The music, the ocean, the sunset, the vibe and this simple sign reminded me of something we all can forget.

Be here. Be now.

And when you get to share moments like this with someone you love deeply, they’re even more meaningful.

Nothing else mattered in that moment, at that event and that night. It’s a reminder we can all carry with us wherever we are: be present.
