Nothing prepared me for all the feelings of parenthood. Joy, frustration, guilt, awe, and what has felt like a thousand more feelings (sometimes all in one day). Willa just turned 15 months old and I’ve been hit by an overwhelming swell of gratitude for our family and friends. And most of all, for Clem, and the love she gives us. We are so lucky. Oh, I am so lucky! I might delete this later, but there are moments when it just feels nice to write these things down and process it all. Particularly in a pitch black room while your baby is teething. by @lukewicker

Had the pleasure of pacing Jake during his SDW 100 a few weeks back. Being part of someone else’s race is such a gift and there are moments that stick with you. Rolling along the South Downs as the sun set was one of those. Jake had an excellent run too. And I will forever believe that ultras are an excellent place to witness the good in humanity.

There’s a unique energy to exploring the edges of what running and racing looks like away from hype and ego. People lacing up, messing around, and encouraging each other to run one more effort. That was what made Solstice on the Segment so fun. Runners coming together to see what they could do, unsure how the day would play out. Carefree enough to think that running reps of Arthur’s Seat would be fun. The fog that greeted us at 4am only heightening that feeling. Then, eventually, the sun came out, capping a tiring but magical 17 hours. by @lukewicker

Interval away days.

Yesterday our boy @lukewicker took on the Malaga Marathon - smashing the Interval record with a time of 2:46:47.

We're biased, but we think he looked pretty good in his orange vest - paired nicely with some @soar_running shorts and @near.earth race socks. Congrats Luke.

We're looking forward to seeing who can lower the record for the fastest marathon in an Interval race vest. by @lukewicker

Since moving back to London, running has been vital in regaining my sense of place in the city. I’ve been exploring the greenery of the River Lea and seeing old spaces with fresh eyes. It got me thinking about running as psychogeography. To sense the changing moods of the streets and trails, the way that old and new intertwine. I’m learning that a lot of my running is driven by this. So, when @watermandy suggested running down the Lea and along The Thames, from Walthamstow to Dartford, I decided to get down a few words for @tracksmithrunning on it all. Link in bio...

@tommackay42 and @owen_d_hughes shared the miles with us, rewriting their own London stories along the way.

To travel on foot in San Francisco is to behold at least one, if not more, peak on your horizon. Which often prompts the question, “How do I get up there?”. Luckily the city has a whole host of beautiful routes up its peaks through urban trails, stairways that keep on climbing, and views that never disappoint. Back in 2020, @liamlonsdale and I were talking Bay Area adventures and wondered if it would be possible to bag every peak in the city at once. We thought it was. So we created the San Francisco Round. It hits 76 of the 79 peaks on the mainland (the other three skipped for reasons of access and inclusivity). I'll be attempting it this Saturday. Not only is it a celebration of the city, but it's also an ode to San Francisco's incredible running community. Which is perfect as @poleary87 @miranda_performance @ricky8281 and @tonywithasony will also be joining me along the way. Of course, in the tradition of rounds back in the UK, we hope others will take on this challenge, as a way to get to know the city better and discover more of its quirks and beauty. Maybe it'll even become a popular @fastestknowntime in the future.

I'm aware this can happen because my privilege lets me enjoy outdoor spaces across the city without barriers. So I'm asking that you donate to the @OutdoorAfro fundraiser I've created to help address the inequality that is so clear on the trails of San Francisco and beyond. I’ll be donating money for every peak I reach. We should all feel welcome on the trails of the Bay Area and hopefully whatever attention the San Francisco Round gets will lead to more accessibility to these outdoor spaces. taken in Twin Peaks (San Francisco) by @lukewicker

Catching the last light on our first ride up Twin Peaks. Less running means more adventures on our bikes, and I’m not complaining despite how my legs feel. by @lukewicker
