To the little girl I once was:

I wish I could go back and tell you that one day you’ll understand why you had to be so strong. That the things you thought would break you would eventually become the very things that taught you who you are. That you would survive chapters you never deserved to live through, outgrow versions of yourself you thought you’d be forever, and find the courage to choose yourself even when it meant starting over.

You’ll spend some of your life trying to be enough for people who were never capable of loving you the way you deserved. You’ll learn that love isn’t supposed to cost you your peace, that being strong doesn’t mean you have to tolerate everything, and that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is walk away from the life you thought you were supposed to have.

One day, you’ll become a mother to two beautiful girls, and you’ll realize that healing isn’t just about you anymore. It’s about showing them what resilience looks like. It’s about teaching them that they can be soft and strong, that they never have to abandon themselves to be loved, and that starting over is nothing to be ashamed of.

You’ll find pieces of yourself in places you never expected. In the gym, where you learn that discipline can rebuild more than just a body. In the quiet moments when you choose peace over chaos. In the woman staring back at you in the mirror, who carries scars you can’t always see but refuses to let them define her.

And no, life won’t turn out exactly how you imagined. But you’ll become someone that little girl would be so proud of.

You’ll stop apologizing for taking up space. You’ll stop confusing survival with living. You’ll learn that you can love deeply without losing yourself, and that your past can explain you without having the power to determine your future. I hope youre proud of the woman we became 🖤
