It was a pleasure to contribute a short essay to this special edition of @theworldofinteriors dedicated to the history of eroticism in design, which launched last week. It’s part of a much longer piece I started writing in the midst of our all-consuming home renovation a few years ago, and I couldn’t hope for a better home for this abbreviated version of it. The whole edition is a thing of beauty, featuring three other texts by @d.lipton @ramos.imma and @hiyapriya and an exquisite collection of design classics, some I’ve been lucky to see like Claude Nicolas Ledoux’s phallus-shaped plan for a brothel (at Saline Royale) and Marie Antoinette’s nipple cup by Sevres (in Rambouillet), among much else. Congratulations to @emily.k.tobin @rutherton and everyone else at WoI for this highly collectible and elegant issue.

Final days to see @jdomercq ‘s Radical Harmony: Helene Kröller-Müller’s Neo-Impressionists, at the @nationalgallery until 8 Feb. Tracing the science-based language of pointillism most fanatically practiced by Georges Seurat and Paul Signac, it reveals just how rich and experimental a technique it was in the hands of artists rarely shown in the UK – from Anna Boch and Jan Toorop to Théo van Rysselberghe, Maximilien Luce and Henry van de Velde. It’s the gallery’s first exhibition dedicated to the theory and application of the dot, and shows not just how it anticipated abstraction and modern art, but how unsettling and radical it was in its own time (I can’t help but think of Peter Schjeldahl writing that “Seurat’s marks are like labourers who, for all they know, may be building a cathedral, a toolshed, or nothing”). There are so many heavy hitters (including one of the best Seurats, on loan from a private collection), alongside a number of real surprises – and the catalogue includes one of my favourite of J’s essays. I’m very proud. by @mariaedimitrova

For @e_flux, I wrote about Anna Andreeva, a fascinating Soviet textile artist whose first retrospective is currently on view at @momus_museums. Until MoMA added her to their collection a few years ago, she was virtually unknown outside of Russia. Her story and creative trajectory is pretty astonishing.
