Giving a little shoutout here to @msjamicakes who will be throwing a New Year’s Day brunch. Here’s what she has to say. I’m throwing a brunch with my friends and you’re all invited. Come join me, my most faithful and lovely bean boy @david_obean , and the wonderful @a_werbicki at @rangoonbistro (who so graciously is letting us take over their space!!!), as we feed and beverage you New Year’s Day! Menu is a la carte and there will be a few fun drinks and fresh squeezed citrus mimosas! WE ARE AT IT AGAIN! This Saturday, August, 26th. As cliche as this sounds, we are so full of gratitude for each and every one of you that has come once, twice, or every time marimacha is happening. We’re doing it again this weekend and are excited to see new and familiar faces we can stuff with good food, wine, and smiles. One week away from the next @marimachapdx ! We’ve been blown away by the turn out and can’t thank everyone enough who’s come, whether it’s for the food, the community, or both! We started this with the intention of hosting a lesbian bar since there are barely any left, with no real idea of how it was going to go. Clearly, you lesbians (and queers) are here for it! We love looking out at a full room of smiling faces. With that, we also want to remind you that we are a first come first serve casual pop up, not an everyday fine dining restaurant. We try each time to improve, but we never quite know what to expect so we want to thank you for showing up, and for your patience while the dining room is full of bodies. We can’t do this without you, and we wouldn’t want to, because you’re who this is for. See you August 26th. We 💜 you!

Marimacha is a Spanish slang for dyke. With Jax being Mexican and as gay as they come, we thought this name was a perfect embodiment of our vision. We wanted to create a space for those that are lesbians, (or at some point identified as lesbians) and then some. In calling this an inclusive lesbian bar, our intention was for all womxn, the trans community, and queers to feel at home. We’re bringing Mexican inspired dishes and wines to the table without the usual pretentious feel. Come with friends, or make a new one at the bar. Bring your partner, or pick up while you’re here. And what’s better than being wined and dined and still making it home by 10pm to cuddle your pup? Nothing. Thank you for those that showed up last night!
