The last 24 months have handed me some epic failures. The kind that shake your confidence, make you question your judgement, and leave you terrified of taking another big leap.

And yet, here I am, making another big move. Still terrified, but taking the bull by the horns anyway.

Perhaps the hardest part isn’t even the fear of failing again. It’s learning to silence the noise around me while carrying the weight of setbacks that still need to be addressed.

And yes, they will be addressed. But I’ve come to understand that wisdom isn’t just knowing what needs to be done. It’s also knowing when to do it.

Sometimes, we become so consumed with dissecting yesterday’s failures that we lose the courage, clarity and momentum needed to build tomorrow.

There is a time to reflect, a time to repair, a time to take responsibility, and a time to move forward. Not everything has to happen at once.

I’m learning that courage doesn’t always feel like confidence. Sometimes, courage is being absolutely terrified and moving anyway.

Learn from your mistakes. Take responsibility for them. Make amends where necessary. But never become so preoccupied with what went wrong that you stop believing in what could still go right.

Your past deserves reflection, but it doesn’t deserve permanent control over your future.

And perhaps that’s the lesson I’m living right now: Failure may change how I move, but I refuse to let it decide whether I move at all. by @mayikeora

It has come to my attention that I have been a rather selfish founder.

And, after some reflection, I think I owe our customers an apology.

There are some things I probably should have shared with you much sooner. I didn’t.

I’ve kept something to myself for far longer than I should have, and considering how long many of you have supported @lavyanna_skin, that may have been slightly unfair.

So yes, this is a public apology.

I’ll explain.

Life is an expensive teacher. And unfortunately, it doesn’t offer refunds. 😌

Some lessons come gently. Others arrive disguised as heartbreak, failure, disappointment, betrayal or opportunities we were too afraid to take.

And the most uncomfortable part? Sometimes, we are the architects of our own misfortunes.

I’ve learnt that being a good person doesn’t guarantee a good life. Hard work doesn’t always guarantee success. Being right doesn’t mean you’ll win. And not everyone who walks away from you has wronged you.

Life is far more complicated than the motivational quotes we love to share.

But here’s something I find comforting: Even when life takes everything you thought you needed, it cannot take away everything the experience taught you.

Perhaps growing wiser isn’t about having fewer problems. Perhaps it’s about having fewer illusions.

14 things life will teach you the hard way. Some might sting. Some might liberate you. And a few might make you rethink what you’ve always believed.
