POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Apparently, being a girl comes with an instruction manual nobody can agree on. Fortunately, the twelve young women on the cover of Issue 54 of Raising Women Magazine missed it entirely. Our International Day of the Girl Child edition celebrates girls rewriting the rules, while reminding us that no girl should need extraordinary achievements to deserve ordinary opportunities.

Inside, we explore the expectations that complicate girlhood, the childhood wounds we carry into adulthood, the surprisingly busy history of the colour pink and a video game that lets you pay rent in Lagos. Because “because you’re a girl” might just be the best reason to dream without limits.

Happy reading!

Today, I celebrate ME 🎂✨

Life has taken me through seasons I never imagined, but through every change, challenge, triumph and beautiful moment, I have continued to live, grow, dream and make an impact.

These photos capture different moments, but together they tell one story — my journey. A journey of resilience, purpose, gratitude and becoming.

Saving the planet sounds simple until the greener choice comes with the bigger price tag.

In our latest issue of Raising Women Magazine, we ask who really gets to afford sustainability. From the cost of food, fashion and clean energy to the ways climate change is quietly reshaping culture, this edition looks at the climate crisis through the lives, choices and wallets of ordinary people. Because a greener future cannot be one only some of us can afford.

Issue 52 is out now.

THE NOMINEE ROLLOUT CONTINUES. 🏆

CATEGORY: COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD

Meet our second nominee:

DR. MAY AMAMGBO — RISING WOMEN INITIATIVE

The Community Leadership Award recognises individuals demonstrating meaningful leadership through their ability to build, nurture, mobilise and sustain communities, creating spaces where people can connect, participate, grow and belong.

Community does not build itself. Behind every thriving community are people willing to do the work of bringing others together and keeping them connected to a shared purpose.

As our nominee rollout continues, we will introduce more individuals whose work and leadership have earned them recognition in this category.
