📣 A #happilyeverafter eight months in the making…TYSON is adopted! We rescued this social butterfly 🦋 pocket pittie from @nycacc this past February. Due to a chronically prolapsed rectum and multiple failed purse string surgeries, he was at risk. Dogs like TYSON are what our #OneLuckyPup program was created for - to save the lives of dogs facing extraordinary challenges! 💪🏽 As soon as we scooped him up from the shelter, we immediately ensured he received lifesaving emergency medical care, which included a coloplexy surgery to ensure his GI issues were resolved once and for all. His road to recovery would be long and challenging. We could not have done with without his team of advocates, which included a medical recovery foster, @_barkparty_, who nurtured him for six months before his care was transferred to foster @annie112867, who went to work on his ‘finishing school’ training. Ann, an incredibly kind and patient human, and her family poured everything into fostering TYSON, from figuring out the exact ratio of fiber and liquid needed to help his body process his food normally and how to get him to easily gobble it up, to creating his adoption page @tysontailspa, all while she worked tirelessly to catch him up on all the socialization and training cues he missed out on. 🥊Today, this happy-go-lucky survivor who never gave up now goes by the most appropriate name of BALBOA (as in Rocky! 😍) is thriving as the latest family member to the Wozney household in NJ. His new mom @rockyourchakra1111 is head over heels for this funny, happy, spirited little man who loves hanging with his big dog sister, all the little humans in his family, going for car rides, and lapping up the love and enrichment he found in his new life. 💕💕 Happy life, Balboa, we can’t wait to watch you grow up exactly where you were always meant to be! #adopttysonmbc #coloplexy #rescueisthenewblack by @mrbonesandco

For two years, one month and 28 days, she has been one of my little lights. SKY is my longest stay foster dog in 15 years of fostering more than 160 of these delightful creatures we are privileged to walk with. Her entire world is silent, but her presence is louder than almost every dog I’ve worked with. Her environment is specific - she needs space to roam, and #forcefree humans who understand dogs deserve agency and autonomy. She’s turned my life inside out, has equally pulled me down and lifted me up, made the losses of Charlotte and Joey more painful than they had to be (not her fault, just the time she required as they were dying) but still, I am, and always will be, the lucky one. 🍀 Jasmyne has made it clear, so no need to ask, but if she would allow it then SKY would be home. She won’t and I would never not honor her and force a situation that would be unfair to all three of us. It will gut me within inches of my soul, but the most fair thing to SKY is to keep looking for her home. She deserves more than scraps of me. KANE needs a temp foster for a few nights I am traveling, and/or a longer term foster who can commit to two months. A foster-to-adopt situation is also ideal. 📣 Please see his full history under #adoptBlessingKaneMBC to understand his origins. KANE is good with dogs. Cats are too interesting for him though. KANE came from a home with four children but due to the attention his caregiver(s) will need to provide him, and his need for a calmer home, we are not able to place him in a home with children at this point. We provide all training support, supplies, ongoing virtual consults with our veterinary behaviorist and as much hand holding as needed. We’re all jumping for joy because SPROUT has been adopted! (Peep 👀 the last video for some seriously feel good vibes! 😍 👉🏾) In a most glorious #fosterfail with dads Ahmed and Coleman, SPROUT, who now goes by Louie, has been home this entire time! After being discarded with his littermate on a Brooklyn sidewalk, Ahmed answered our urgent plea for foster (shoutout of thanks to Harriette at @redhookdogrescue for passing the need along!) and it was evident from early on that #AdoptSproutMBC was more than likely going to have his new dads head over paws! 🐾 We are so happy to share this sweet story, and to watch the enriched, beautiful life Louie will lead as it unfolds! See him, then share him. I sent this video to KANE’s temp foster @gracebaley who I took over from today. I never intended to post this - it’s definitely not “Instagram worthy.” But, after I sent it to her I realized it captured something more ‘worthy’ than most of what I’ve seen on my feed lately. I’ve been having so much anxiety over how I will juggle three dogs who need to be separated - we had no takers to step in, as some of his behaviors, while mild, have undetermined triggers we need to understand in order to determine what environments/homes will set him up for success. Here just half a day, KANE is the perfect reminder of why a comprehensive care model in animal welfare, advocacy and rescue is vital. This must encompass the basics of enrichment, and understanding each dog is an individual and cannot be subject to a cookie cutter approach, as well as complete veterinary care (which may need to include pain trials/evaluations), behavior evaluation/understanding and #positivereinforcementdogtraining. Tonight, in my decidedly not chic but definitely shabby kitchen, this little goblin reminded me why I CAN do this until we find his final stop. KANE has been through so much, which I will detail tomorrow in a dedicated post, but for tonight, please crush on this little soul, and be reminded that we absolutely, unequivocally, one-hundred-percent-not-in-one- million lifetimes, do not deserve dogs. He is someone’s #souldog. URGENT: Foster or Foster-to-Adopt Needed for this Disney-esque dog by Sat., Oct. 10! KANE, approximately 1.5 years old and 45 lbs., is approaching the last week his temporary Brooklyn, NY foster home is able to care for him. We are so grateful for @gracebaley and her family for stepping up for 2.5 weeks to ensure KANE had a soft place to land as we searched for a longer term placement. We’ve learned so much about this lovable, soft dog who has spent his short life isolated in an apartment building. His foster mom writes: “My time with KANE has been a combination of laughter and cuddles. He’s a silly guy who is playful, comfortable and curious while exploring outside, enjoys car rides, and savors every treat. But, his real true love is cuddling! He’ll put that big head right in your lap and lay there as long as he can. I decided to cancel a bunch of plans while he’s been here because KANE and I were cuddling and that was that - I even got lucky and had to stay home from work with a virus! Neither of us were sad about it. If someone out there wants a sweet, handsome, couch potato then KANE is your guy!” KANE has made major steps with his potty training and is able to wait until he’s outside for his bathroom breaks. KANE will need a patient home willing to help him continue to unfold and help build his confidence with positive reinforcement, force-free methods. Our organization will provide training support from our accredited, certified training partner professionals, as well as food and supplies. While Kane came from a home with four children, we think if there are children in his home, they are better suited to be older. He likely will not do well with a cat in the home, but he is very dog friendly! KANE is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. ⏰KANE is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt. Please share - he must find placement by Sept. 23! KANE, approximately 1.5 years and around 45 lbs., does very well meeting new dogs and is looking for a home with a human(s) who likes to couch surf, get smooshy, cuddle and also hang outdoors for walks, gentle hikes and sunbathing. KANE’s current foster home is Wallingford, CT and due to a medical emergency with one of his humans, we need a foster take over! His foster mom writes: KANE is an adorable, stout little guy with a playful spirit and a tender heart. He loves the company of resident dog,@shalom_ramone and would be thrilled to have a canine buddy to share his days with. He enjoys walks, zoomies, chew time, and tossing his toys around before rolling over for a good chew session. Plush toys, hard chews, frozen enrichment—KANE is ready! He’s also highly treat-motivated and never turns down plenty of pets, affection, and love. When it’s time to relax, KANE is happy settling into his pen with some frozen enrichment, but his favorite place is snuggled up on the couch with his human and a doggy friend. KANE is a playful but sensitive boy who is still learning that the world is a safe place. New people and unfamiliar sounds can make him a little nervous at first, so he does best with patient introductions outside the home and some space to decompress. Give him that time, along with consistency and positive training, and he warms up quickly. He’s adaptable to different environments and is working hard on his potty training—he truly wants to potty outside and is doing very well when his human watches for his cues. KANE is looking for someone who will offer him compassion, patience, structure, and plenty of love while helping his confidence continue to grow. Social butterfly dog ISO forever home! 😍 TYSON, one year old, is a compact 45 lbs. petite treat who walks well on leash, enjoys meeting new humans, does well with dogs and has been in foster care with two cats he gets along just fine with as well! He is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. After multiple instances of a prolapsed rectum in February, we rescued this little trooper from @nycacc and provided him with a lifesaving coloplexy surgery to ensure the issue never happens again. Today, this happy-go-lucky survivor is thriving! 📍TYSON is fostered in the Souderton, PA (45 mins north of Philly) and is available for immediate adoption!
