We built Otherhalf to be the opposite of what “agency” usually means. Swipe to see how we stack up against the traditional model. by @otherhalfstudio_
Design and growth aren't two departments here. They're one team, one process, one outcome. Swipe for a look at the people behind it. by @otherhalfstudio_
We build exceptional storefronts and the brands behind them. Branding, website, or CRO + maintenance, we combine senior talent and efficient process to deliver work that’s considered, cohesive, and built to perform. In a market this noisy, trust is built or lost in 0.05 seconds. Great design is how you earn it. Swipe to see how we scope each one, and the brands who’ve trusted us with theirs. by @otherhalfstudio_
A look back at our work with @bigassluxuries, bringing their brand into a full Shopify experience. Over the next 6 days, we'll dive deeper into the highlights of the work we're proud of. @bigassluxuries makes America's largest luxury candles, hand-poured in Dallas with up to 1,000+ hours of burn time. The homepage leads with that claim front and centre, paired with editorial photography that shows off the scale of the product. Shoppers know what makes BAL different before they scroll. With candles this big, shoppers want to know exactly what they're bringing home. The PDP puts reviews, scent notes, and a scent strength rating right up top, so customers find their perfect match without digging. Hot Take #3: White space won’t kill your conversion. A misconception is that empty space can feel like wasted real estate. It isn’t. It’s what lets your product, your messaging, and your CTA actually stand out. More content tight together on a page rarely means more sales. That’s a wrap on this week’s round of pumpkin spiced takes. Which one did you agree with most? Or least? 🎃🔥 #whitespace #uidesign #brandingstudio #minimaldesign by @otherhalfstudio_
Hot Take #2: Your CTA can live below the fold. The usual rule says Add to Cart should always be visible. But for higher-priced products, shoppers need reasons before they need a button. Let imagery, details, and reviews do the convincing up top. The CTA can close the deal a scroll down. And if you’re really worried, a sticky Add to Cart covers the rest. Where do you land on this one? #pdpdesign #ecommerceux #shopifystore #dtcmarketing by @otherhalfstudio_
It’s officially pumpkin spice season. Everyone’s serving something seasonal. We’re serving opinions. 🎃🔥 This week we’re sharing a few ecom hot takes. Things we’ve learned designing and building for DTC brands that don’t always line up with the “usual” playbook. Hot Take #1: Mobile-first shouldn’t be a design rule. Yes, most traffic is on mobile. But designing small first and scaling up often leaves desktop feeling like an afterthought. And plenty of considered purchases still happen on a bigger screen. The order you design in matters less than giving both equal attention. Agree or disagree? Our comments are open 🤭 #shopifydesign #responsivedesign #ecommercedesign #dtcbrands by @otherhalfstudio_
Working with PiiPER has been a true collaboration, exactly what we strive for with every client. Now that the site has launched, we’re not done! This relationship has grown into a true Otherhalf partnership, so there’s more to share soon 🫶🏼🤭 Client: @heypiiper Creative Direction: Lindsey Bellanti @lindseyjbell Founder: Matthew Biggins Naming & Branding: Young Jerks @youngjerks Photographer: Hannah Dimmitt @hannahdimmit and Set Creative Studios @setcreativestudios Website Strategy / UI-UX / Development: Otherhalf @otherhalfstudio_ #shopify #shopifydesign #ecommercedesign #webdesign #ecomdesign We love the brand detail on every page of the site. The Contact Us page could’ve just said “Contact Us,” but where’s the brand in that?! Even the FAQ section was designed with the same sense of fun as the hero. We couldn’t do this without our incredible partner and main point of contact throughout this project, @lindseyjbell, Senior Creative Director at @heypiiper. Her trust in our process and strong POV made this collaboration what it was 💞 #shopify #shopifydesign #ecommercedesign #webdesign #ecomdesign by @otherhalfstudio_
We love that @heypiiper drops new flavors based on the time of year, it keeps the brand fun and on season! This year’s fall flavors are Caramel Apple, Pumpkin Chai, and Candy Corn. Honestly, the biggest struggle of this project has been not craving dessert 🍏🎃🌽 Client: @heypiiper Creative Direction: Lindsey Bellanti @lindseyjbell Founder: Matthew Biggins Naming & Branding: Young Jerks @youngjerks Photographer: Hannah Dimmitt @hannahdimmitt Website Strategy / UI-UX / Development: Otherhalf @otherhalfstudio_ Showing just a plain white frosting doesn’t let you taste it. That’s why we asked for assets that showed the taste visually, the kind that gets your tastebuds buzzing. What we got back was everything we could have dreamed of 🥹 When someone lands on the product page, they see the packaging, a close-up swatch and texture of the product, a lifestyle shot, and a taste teaser. Put it all together and you’ve never craved something more! #shopify #shopifydesign #ecommercedesign #webdesign #ecomdesign by @otherhalfstudio_
PiiPER’s whole point is expression!! Every drip, every extra layer of glitter dust is a choice that’s yours. We wanted the site to feel just as creative as baking with @heypiiper actually is 🫶🏼 Client: @heypiiper Creative Direction: Lindsey Bellanti @lindseyjbell Founder: Matthew Biggins Naming & Branding: Young Jerks @youngjerks Photographer: Hannah Dimmitt @hannahdimmit and Set Creative Studios @setcreativestudios Website Strategy / UI-UX / Development: Otherhalf @otherhalfstudio_ Our testimonial section doesn’t just tell people PiiPER works, it shows them. We featured real videos of customers using the products, plus viral moments like the Dot Cake trend, so the page feels less like a product page and more like scrolling your FYP. We also paired each review or video with the product being talked about, so people can easily learn more. Further down the page we gave written testimonials the same energy as everything else on the site: large, bold text framed by PiiPER’s signature shapes and icons. No fine print, the proof is loud because the brand is too ✨ #shopify #shopifydesign #ecommercedesign #webdesign #ecomdesign by @otherhalfstudio_
Telling PiiPER’s story was soooo fun with the assets provided by the other incredible partners of this project! (See credits below.) From video and lifestyle photography to behind-the-scenes content, @heypiiper feels alive and you have FOMO not being a part of it. Client: @heypiiper Creative Direction: Lindsey Bellanti @lindseyjbell Founder: Matthew Biggins Naming & Branding: Young Jerks @youngjerks Photographer: Hannah Dimmitt @hannahdimmit and Set Creative Studios @setcreativestudios Website Strategy / UI-UX / Development: Otherhalf @otherhalfstudio_ The Our Story page isn’t your standard image and wall of text. We wanted people to actually feel the PiiPER world and see just how fun the brand is. The different sections dive deeper into the why behind the brand and what it brings to the baking aisle ✨ The Collections page brings social UI patterns to life, letting people filter through different collections the same way they’d tap through stories. It’s a familiar interaction that lowers the barrier to browse, each collection leads with a different lifestyle image to pull people in, paired with easy-to-read product cards that lead them straight to the PDP (with that variant selected of course!) 💞 #shopify #shopifydesign #ecommercedesign #webdesign #ecomdesign by @otherhalfstudio_
@heypiiper is built for Gen Z and Alpha bakers who’d rather celebrate the mess than chase a Pinterest-perfect cake. We brought that imperfect, rule-breaking energy to life online, building interactive sections designed to grab attention and pull people in 💞 Client: @heypiiper Creative Direction: Lindsey Bellanti @lindseyjbell Founder: Matthew Biggins Naming & Branding: Young Jerks @youngjerks Photographer: Hannah Dimmitt @hannahdimmitt and Set Creative Studios @setcreativestudios Website Strategy / UI-UX / Development: Otherhalf @otherhalfstudio_ #shopify #shopifydesign #customshopifytheme #ecommercedesign #webdesign On desktop, we added an animation so the products in the basket jiggle on hover. When selected, a side drawer opens with product details and a link straight to the full PDP, so customers can explore without ever losing their place on the page. On mobile, instead of shrinking the basket down and keeping it horizontonal, we optimized the basket to be vertical. The drawers then slide up from the bottom for a more seamless experience. Proof you can design fun things and still keep it optimized on mobile! by @otherhalfstudio_
