Your girls were invited to PARLIAMENT!! Huge congratulations to @makeitmandatory and @amnestyfeminist for such an amazing campaign #RSEto18.
Recently VAWG has been overshadowed by anti-immigration and anti-trans campaigning, and it’s so refreshing to meet as a collective to discuss the ACTUAL problems facing young women and girls, calling MPs to action on mandatory sex and relationship education until 18. Lots of people think this is already a policy, but in practise there are so many loopholes which leave young people without the knowledge of coercive control, and basic sexual wellbeing education. Without this language, young people are left without the tool to call abuse what it is and recognise red flags in relationships and sex.
It’s so important to hear how this policy would impact on survivors and experts by lived experience, and after listening to @killedwomennw notyourpxrn and some other amazing speakers, we express at @academicsagainstassault our deep commitment and support for this action.
