4 months agoSame and also a self taught designer and illustrator. You can learn so much by just diving in and exploring. I agree with all of these slides
4 months ago90% of the design process is internal screaming and I don't trust anybody who's methods are any different 😂
4 months agoLove the honesty. And also no formal training or degree here. Tbh sometimes the folks who do have that lack that creative “edge” that delineates their work from the rest of the market. Overly formulaic design processes based on a set of concrete instructions one learned in school start to look dated and uninspired really fast in the real world. Chaos wins.
4 months agoAll of these 🙌 though I do have a degree in graphic communications, I think it’s only really relevant when it comes to dealing with the technical parts of production. Stuff like colour management, file types, preflighting, and all of the things that give printers a headache. Industry stuff. Marketing & design is easy enough to learn online if you know where to look!
4 months agoInteresting!!! I can relate well to the process being chaotic and having no set rule. As a motion designer, I could start with sketch of free writing ideas on sheets on some days and other times find myself listening to cool instrumentals which may not even end up as the track for the final piece.
4 months agoI have an associate degree and 15+ years experience but when i apply a job the don’t care how talented i am because of the degree.
