After 14 mighty years as one of London’s finest restaurants, the team at @10greekstreet announced this week they’re closing on 8 August.
I can’t quite place my first meal there, but it was 2012, I think. I was freshly back from living in New York and tagged along with Steve and Riz from @the_columbo_group. The critics were buzzing and everyone in the industry was desperate to see what the fuss was all about. These were the good old days of Soho when getting a table was a full contact sport, but the fight was more than worth it.
A couple of years later @nataliaribbe introduced me to owners Luke and Cam, who were in the market for comms support. That was 2014. They’ve been on my client list ever since.
The cooking, the wine, the service, the sheer energy of the place - @10greekstreet meant something to so many people for good reason. It was @ghislainecardon and my last meal before lockdown. And our first one after.
I’ve got huge respect for every manager, waiter and chef who came through there and I’m not surprised many of them are now off doing other brilliant, impressive things.
As a publicist, @10greekstreet were joy to work so I’d like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Luke - for being such a terrific partner and for building such an incredible institution.
These days you’ll find Luke at @braybrookebeer brewing the best keller lager out there. We now clock each other at the school gates looking tired for very different reasons!
If you haven’t already, I’d urge you to get a table for one last meal – and remind yourself what a proper restaurant experience feels like.

This is so sad! I was just there last month and the food has always been fantastic 😢
