3 months agoBillionaires are playing in our faces, because Billionaires know that they can afford to relocate their entire family to another country at anytime. Billionaires are intentionally destroying our economy with Datacenters damaging our waters as well as stealing government contract funds. Bill Gates have done Ted talk that he wants to reduce world population by any means possible. This gop administration already caused Measles to reoccur as well as reduce poison restriction on food. Did you know that Peter Thiel have requested citizenship and relocated his entire family to Argentina after causing a risk of nukes attack by China and Pakistan (March 2026) and others with America and Israel. Also, did know that in June 2026 Ivanka Trump and husband are trying to purchase an island in Albania in order to build a hotel Resort over an old Soviet Military base nuke bunker and tunnels for the wealthy to hide. Are you aware that Billionaires Ellisona Right Wing owns 90% of Mainstream broadcast media to produce gop propaganda. In order to mitigate politicians from accepting bribes which is the Root Cause of bribes, politicians should stop suppressing their own wages and the Cost of Living Wages by increasing annual income salary for politicians to another $300k or $400k as well increase Cost of Living Wages by 7%. Please stop letting Super Pac Money from playing in our faces by increasing our own best interest for our economy.
4 months agoNo data centers but liquor and 24/7 convenience stores recieve ongoing approvals as PG County economic value continue to decline.
4 months agoThis is why I didn’t vote for Tim Adams, Sydney Harrison or Jolene Ivey. Krystal is the ONLY one I’ve seen stand against data centers proudly.
4 months agoConcern!!! Data centers covered by the new moratorium (see p.2 of resolution): 1. WHEREAS, for the purposes of this resolution, “qualified data center” has the meaning prescribed under Part 27-5 of Subtitle 27 of the Code; and 2. WHEREAS, for the purposes of this resolution, “hyperscale qualified data center” means a qualified data center designed to support robust, scalable applications, typically exceeding 10,000 square feet in area and housing 5,000 or more servers; Not good.
4 months agoGen Z’s are tried of tech. Articles shared by a Gen Z on this. I’ll try to add later.
4 months agoIs that “logistic center” in Beltsville off of Konterra a data center? They snuck that one in quick, along with more 🤦🏽♀️townhomes.
4 months agoBut this would just be a moratorium on hyperscale data centers? So, in doing this, would you and the county be essentially giving a green light to enterprise data centers, colocation data centers, edge data centers, and modular data centers?
4 months agoI’m going to bookmark this so that when everyone comes back crying that we’re being discriminated against and bypassed for opportunity we can point back to this well-intentioned but shortsighted reaction. A more responsible approach would be to bring state environmentalist and tech companies together to find the best way forward. Shutting them out now without proper due diligence sends the wrong message to industries about how open we are OR NOT for business. A moratorium sounds like fear and fear based action almost never produces the intended results 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
4 months agoI’m a bit confused about the request to urge a NO vote? Shouldn’t the ask be that they vote to approve your resolution?
