HELP! I need to promote the @sufjan show that 12 incredible musicians and I are putting on at @bopstoptms this Saturday, but I can’t stop singing songs that we won’t be playing there!

Eugene is the first song of his I ever learned to play. When Carrie & Lowell came out I was the music director of WDCE at UR, and I’m sure I neglected some other releases around the time because I could not stop listening to it over and over again. I then spent the entire summer of 2015 playing along to the album until I had all of the songs memorized. Eugene completely captured me with its simple instrumentation, brisk chord changes, and beautiful narrative about fragmented memories haunting you forever as they warp around the changes in your life. Until the day I die, i will never forget this song.
