Last weekend I went on my annual boys trip in nature.
We have one key rule:
Each guy leads a surprise activity on a different day.
Day 1: we dressed as pirates floating on kids bounce houses in a public lake playing battleship using walkie talkies.
Day 2: we did a photo shoot at a petting zoo wearing cashmere turtle necks and loafers.
For the second year in a row my activity was inspired by my days at NYU film school:
Make a one-shot music video where we pass off the camera to one another to keep the shot going til the end.
What started off as a goofy idea has turned into an annual tradition and a highly advanced bonding exercise where each of us has to work together taking turns as director, dancer, choreographer, and in the case of
@seb100things, synchronized swimmer (all of us sprinting between shots to get in frame on time in the background).
Two years in a row, this has been one of the best weekends of my Summer.
If you’re thinking about a getaway with friends, do it.
And remember: doing weird things together is one of the fastest ways to remember why you love your friends.
