Calzoni di ceci is going to be our dessert for our summer menu
@malpractice.pdx on Sunday, July 26. We absolutely can not wait for you to try this delicious dessert.
You can reserve your spots for 5pm or 8pm via link in bio.
This dessert is a pastry dough stuffed with a sweetened chickpea filling. We will serve it with a rainier cherry coulis with a chocolate sauce (not pictured). We’ll also be adding a scoop of fig leaf ice cream to accompany it.
This dish comes from the Muro Lucano region in southern Italy. It uses chickpeas in an unexpected fun way. It leans on the sweet side instead of a savory one. Often paired with chocolate inside and served during the holidays.
This isn’t the only recipe that Italians use chickpeas in a sweet way. There are others like cassatelle, but this one stood out to us to really highlight the chickpeas, and cherries.
It’s a wonderful bright, sweet, nutty, and creamy dish with hints of vanilla.
We’ll see you July 26 to celebrate summer!
