The absolute disrespect and ignorance here is unreal. “LA MuDANZA” carries the weight of a painful history a song born out of resistance and the blood of Puerto Ricans who were criminalized, jailed and killed just for raising our flag under Law 53.
To use an anthem of survival and weaponize it as hype music for ICE operations is a direct insult to history and basic humanity. Beyond the music it’s disgusting to watch human suffering turned into a promotional video.
And on top of that on July 22, the White House account posted a photoshopped graphic of Donald Trump throwing paper towels with the caption POTUS knows ball mocking the tragic aftermath of Hurricane Maria, where thousands of Puerto Ricans lost their lives and suffered. Trivializing a humanitarian disaster for social media clout is pure caripelaobehavior.
This isn’t just about one song or
one post. It’s about the devastating and heartbreaking reality that millions of immigrants from every corner of the world are forced to endure every single day in this country. People who left everything behind, who bleed, sweat and build lives here, only to be hunted, handcuffed and ripped away from their children. Stripping that painful reality down into PR clips while families are being shattered is heartless.
You can’t weaponize our culture while trying to erase our people. 🇵🇷🤝🏽🇲🇽 🇬🇹 🇭🇳 🇸🇻 🇨🇺 🇭🇹 🇻🇪 🇳🇮 🇨🇴 🇪🇨 🇩🇴 🇧🇷 🇮🇳 🇨🇳 🇵🇰🌎
