A rescue dog, some serious Chicago restaurant pedigree and one very special new café. 🐾
Dewey’s Café is officially open in Roscoe Village, and Eater has the exclusive first look.
Riley Brown and Hannah Grossman met while opening Monteverde and have been building a life together in Chicago hospitality ever since. Riley later rose to chef de cuisine at two Michelin-starred Oriole, while Hannah is a certified sommelier with more than a decade of restaurant and wine experience.
Named for their beloved rescue chihuahua,
@deweys_cafe is rooted in what he taught them about love, care and patience. That spirit runs through a seasonal, plant-focused menu built around regional growers, minimal waste and relationships with local makers including
@metriccoffee,
@volitionteaco,
@beacondoughnuts,
@middle__brow, and
@hopewellbrewing.
That same warmth carries through every visual detail. A special nod to
@sirenbettydesign, who brought it into the interiors, and
@danpolyak, who carried it through the branding.
Lunch, happy hour and dinner are still to come. Read the full story at
@eater_chicago.
