BYU’s new Arts Building is now open, and it is incredible.
Emilie and I spent literally thousands of hours as students in the old Harris Fine Arts Center as students, and even since then, which we all affectionately called the HFAC.
Music, performing, theatre—the arts. We loved joining President and sister Reese for a walk through of this incredible building which will serve generations of artists for the decades to come.
I am now more convinced than ever that in the years ahead the arts will be more critical than ever to understanding and preserving what is most important about humanity. This building will be one of those where it happens.

I totally agree. The arts do so much to unify us and create shared experiences. @utahchambermusicfestival recently held a concert at BYU that was amazing. One of the international artists told me later that the concert hall at BYU was his favorite venue of the 5 they performed at in Utah. And the audience was fantastic.
